My Brother is the Best

Sonal hurriedly left the house after receiving the first Zomato order bidding her mom goodbye. After Sonal left for work, Sonal's mom saw that she had left her tiffin box and told her son, Sahil to go and give her tiffin box, to which Sahil replied that as he had to attend his college function today, it was not possible for him to do it. Feeling sad, Sonal's mom called Sonal, who replied to her that she would eat something on the way. Sonal was a lively girl who could not continue her studies as her father had passed away at a young age and had taken up the responsibility of looking after her family at a young age by working at Zomato, and slowly she had learned the ins and outs of Zomato orders and how if her customers would give her a 5-star rating, she would be getting more orders, through which she could earn more. So, she did not miss any opportunity of requesting her customers to give her a 5-star rating though many times the door was banged on her face, she did not mind that, as long as she was heard.

As she was tired today, she woke up 10 minutes late, due to which she had to skip her breakfast and had to rush to her workplace. Sahil stopped her before she could start the vehicle and requested that since today was the last day to fill the college fees, he needed money to which Sonal replied that since it was already late and she had run out of money, she would arrange and give it to him the next day, to which Sahil nodded his head and let her go. Sonal was busy throughout and was not aware of the time also until her mother called her and informed her that it was already going to be 10 p.m. and she was not yet home. Sonal was about to reply, and ping came the last order, which she did not want to miss as she had to accumulate money for Sahil's fee. She told her mom that she would be home in an hour or so and cut the call. As she was enquiring about the order, the person who was standing next to her touched her hand wanted and behaved as if nothing had happened. This made Sonal angry, but since the bearer said the order was ready she could not do anything about it and took the food parcel and headed towards her vehicle. While she was taking her vehicle back, her mom called and informed her that she was running out of insulin and she asked her to get it on the way as Sahil's mobile was switched off. Sonal tried calling Sahil, and it was switched off. As she was on phone, she could not notice that a man was behind her vehicle, and it had hit him. She asked him sorry and started the vehicle.

On her way to deliver the food parcel, she noticed in the rearview mirror that the man who was hit by her vehicle near the restaurant was following her. She started sweating. She sped up the vehicle and the man also increased the speed. She got a call from the delivery point that she had to get 2 bottles of Pepsi and a pack of cigarettes and that she would be paid extra for that. Sonal stopped the vehicle near a bakery and bought the Pepsi and cigarettes and from the nearby medical shop bought the insulin for her mom and tried Sahil's number because she did not want her mom to wait too long for insulin, but it was switched off. She looked around carefully for that man who was following her vehicle. Thank God, he was nowhere to be seen. She said to herself, that maybe, he was on his way home, and that she had mistaken him to be following her. She sighed in relief, and she started the vehicle towards the delivery point. Meanwhile, she got a call from the delivery point, the customer was scolding her that she was late to which Sonal replied that she was almost reaching the destination to which she told Sonal that she was in room # 420 and that she could come and deliver the stuff.

Sonal got the food packet, Pepsi, and cigarettes and came inside the hotel and headed towards room #420, and rang the bell. She was worried about her mom's delay in taking insulin but was happy that she could earn some extra money today with which Sahil could pay the college fees. Sahil!!!! uttered Sonal in utter shock. She stood there dumbstruck. She had to balance herself before she could hand over the delivery packet to her own brother, the world's best brother, she had thought, till this moment. The lady's voice from inside the room told Sahil to give extra money to Sonal, to which she replied Sahil and told him to keep the money as he needed it to fill the college fee and left the place with a sigh!!!
