Reena With Her Mother-In-Law

Reena went to London after her marriage. A girl from a small town when goes to London means a lot for her. She along with her husband started staying at London for a year. Due to some business purpose, they had to go.

After a year she came back to her town and started staying with her in-laws house. Initially she was lazy in doing the house hold things as she was not habituated to it. But gradually her mother-in-law observed that she is actually not interested and being old it was really difficult for the old lady to do all the regular work of home. Staring from cleaning home to preparing food was being done by Reena's mother-in-law. Reena was simply staying in her bedroom and watching TV.

One day, Reena's mother came to meet her and stayed with her for few days. She observed that all her mother-in-law was doing all the household things and really felt guilt that her daughter is not doing anything.

She went to Reena and asked her about the matter. In reply, Reena told,"Oh...Mumma, I have returned from London, why shall I do all these stuffs?" And other than that I'm not habituated neither I'm interested, so you just don't ask me from next time. After listening to this, Reena's mother slapped her and told,"this is the culture I have taught to you". What if you have returned from London, if you are at home, you have to share your time with family, not like watching only TV. See that old lady and just compare her with your age. In this age, she should take rest and you should work but No.....here the scenario is something different. Just because you have returned from London. Duty is duty. When you were at London, I don't know what were you doing but when you are here you have to give time to do household things along with taking care of your family members. I hope you got my words- told Reena's mother with a strict voice.

Reena cried a lot and could find her mistakes. She went to her mother-in-law and felt guilt for the duties that she should follow but she didnot. She touched her feet and said sorry. Her mother-in-law forgave her by wiping her tears and gave her a tight hug.

From that moment itself, Reena took over all the duties and responsibilities of her home. Specifically, she started taking care of her mother-in-law.

MORAL OF THE STORY- It does not matter how high you go in terms of success, it is your behaviour that determines your character.
