Results Out Day

Oindrila has not been able to close her two eyes for a moment at night due to overwhelming tension and chronic anxiety attack. Next day is her result- out day in college. The exam has passed well, but still the tension of the upcoming result out is tottering her, tormenting her in every second, every minute. She is a brilliant student of the renowned Presidency College located in Kolkata. She is a topper in the department of Chemistry Honours and a rising singer. Experts tell that when she sings, she takes after a solitary melodious cuckoo singing in the woodland thickets during the spring afternoon. She is immensely beautiful bestowed with deep eyes full of feelings like a fawn and wonderful fascinating never-failing charm as the God has himself created her with his supreme creativity and artistic skill. She is bold, she is beautiful; she is a perfect combination of beauty and brain.

She generally shines in her exam, but this time she is in too much anxiety, too much uncertainty. There is a valid reason behind this also. This is the third and final year of her honours course. Previous year she just missed the topmost position by just one mark to her longtime rival Ajay. Ajay Panigrahy, who is her friend and classmate from the primary school, is cherishing a long rivalry with her. While studying in the primary classes,there was not a single day on which they didn't quarrel over something and something.

Oindrila still remembers the result-out day of class Four,when she was adjudged first and Ajay stood second for the first time,is still now a red-letter day to her. Both are competitors of each other, both are winsome, both are intelligent. Due to this lifelong rivalry, both of them have got admitted to same college, to same course. While studying in the primary and secondary classes, both were jealous of each other's success. When Ajay would top, Oindrila Goswami would burn from her ego and jealousy. She was just like the saddest person on the earth. And when Oindrila would top, Ajay's envy knew no bound. So, things were going like this. But, situation has quite changed in last couples of years.

With time, Ajay and Oindrila have developed and nourished strong like and desire towards each other. As stated early , they are childhood friends of each other and now, the circumstances have become like this that they have turned into birds of a feather. They are bosom friends and everything that comes about in their lives, they freely share with each other. But in case of propose, both are afraid. Still, Ajay smiles at Oindrila's thought and Oindrila blushes at Ajay's name. But, Ajay fears if Oindrila says 'no' in the reply of his proposal and the long well-nourished friendship gets broken, he will be in total darkness. He will sink in the ocean of frustration and sadness. Without Oindrila, he cannot live for a single moment, he cannot breadth.

And at present, Oindrila fears that if Ajay rejects her, she will be thrown in the darkness of melancholy and depression. And if Ajay tells her family about that , the whole thing will be put into daylight. Then, she will be at peril, in total disgrace. She earnestly want to keep her love secret. Same thing applies to Ajay too. Ajay also takes a keen interest in secret love. He never wants to publicize his immense love for Oindrila,make his love story public.

Surprisingly, Ajay and Oindrila's fathers are best friends of each other since college life. Still, they work in the same multinational company, they love and respect each other. Oindri( Oindrila's nickname) and Ajay are fully ignorant of the fact that their fathers are well aware of their 'secret' love story. Their fathers from the core of their hearts, wants their son and daughter to marry each other and spend a happy life together with their everlasting love. But, they also not want their love to affect their careers as both are bright students and deserve bright futures. They want their son and daughter to marry, but for this particular reason, they haven't told anything to them about their wish and have put a keen eye on their activities.

Oindrila thinks her family bears a strong dislike towards her intimate friendship with Ajay. Ajay also thinks such. Oindri has decided after thinking and thinking, this time whatever happens she won't care. If she attains the topmost position, she must propose Ajay. She doesn't care what her family tells or demands. Due to her excellent academic records and sweet company of Ajay, she possess the ability to be self-supporting now. Yes, she can do anything for her love. Love is life and life is love.

Ajay also thinks such. This time he will not care of this world. If he tops, he will definitely confess about his love he has cherished for long, to his Oindri. Yes, he must tell. For him, the universe is nothing but Oindri is all.

Whatever, finally the day comes. Oindrila gets out from her house and meets her ' lifelong rival' Ajay and sets out for her destination i. e, her college in his company. When she enters the college campus, her heartbeat goes faster and faster. In front of the college, there is a big crowd of tensed students and chattering guardians. With lots of efforts and struggles,she and Ajay come close to the result list. But, Oindrila almost weeps when she finds her or Ajay's name nowhere in the list. She gets shocked and fells on the ground in pain and anxiety. Ajay picks him up and consoles her. Then, he takes her to the list in which only the toppers' names have been enlisted. She becomes so much surprised to find out that she and her Ajay, both have obtained the same marks and their names are shining in the topmost position of the list. She cries in joy, jumps in ecstasy and hugs Ajay in love.

Both go to a nearby restaurant and there they reveal their love that they have kept secret in their hearts for so long! 'Lifelong rivals' become 'lifelong lovers' finally. From nearby shop, Ajay buys an engagement ring for Oindrila but Oindrila convinces him that he will put it in her delicate finger in front of her whole family. Oindrila requests Ajay to come to her house and have dinner together and in reply, with undaunted courage, Ajay asserts. They spend the whole day together in the shopping malls, in the beautiful parks, enjoying the day on the banks of the Ganga and in Park Street celebrating their love and success!

Finally, in the evening, with Oindrila Ajay reaches her house. But, they get so shocked to see their families have become reunited in immense happiness to congratulate them for their success and to greet them for their upcoming engagement ceremony!
