It was my first Eid in India.

I was born and grown in Bahrain until my 12th birthday.

We had landed India 2 months before Eid.

In Bahrain, since there were none of our family members, we used to celebrate Eid with just our friends only.

It felt good but something was lacking in us.

When I and my brother got the news that we are on for India.

We started shopping right the next day.

Bought dresses, gifts, food items, etc for us and our cousins.

We were super excited to meet them.

We landed India on 14th April and if I'm not wrong then Eid was of 27th or 28th July

When u arrived here we had faced a lot of problems regarding health, as we have immigrated to a changing climate, it was hard for us to fit with it.

But we enjoyed that phase too. Being I'll have its fun.

We were treated with just khichri every time we visited any relative

But all over that, the best of what we enjoyed a lot was the Eid.

That day was something special.

The entire colony was decorated, the roadside was filled with small shops having the dress, makeup, edibles, fruit's, perfumes, shoes, bangles, etc..

The glimpse, glamour the happiness of children all were something new we had seen.

Ladies along with their family enjoying the night meal, kids wandering here and there, enjoying rides, playing, enjoying food.

Everything was just like a fairytale to us.

We have never been to this side of Eid celebration.

And most importantly the Sheer.

Variously tasted sheer brought a difference in our taste. Also since the last two months we were living on khichri and low salt and mirch food.

Sheer brought a sort of happiness to us.

That day my mother had received a sheer container from someone else we had never seen.

She was her school friend and guess what she was a Christian. For once we were amazed to find her as Ammi had never told us about her.

That they had found one new friend to that's anty's daughter. Liza.

We shared our eidi and sheer along with her.

We played a lot. I enjoyed the entire day.

We exchanged our gifts and our bracelets too.

In hope that whenever we will see that bracelets it will remind us of each other.

That Eid wasn't a normal one it was a different festival .. the sheer festival.
