I still don't have any answers. By this point, I expected someone to appear, explain why or maybe just erase my memories like one of those movie tropes. You know the ones.

But... Nothing. No reasons, no explanation, no nothing.

Ha, even she doesn't know why she's here. Although... I think I'm starting to understand her more and more.

Yeah, it's true.

Each and every day, I'm seeing more of her, sides of her I didn't see at first.

I thought it was a dream at first. A realistic dream.

You're not supposed to feel pain in dreams though. I tested that when I asked her to slap me across the face.

She stared at me with a blank face, nodded her head and slapped me right on the cheek.

"Ouch!"

Still didn't wake up.

"This... Isn't a dream, is it?"

She blinked.

"I don't know what a dream is. Is it some kind of food? Are you hungry?"

She was looking at me like a lost puppy.

She looked... Scared.

"N-no, it's... Never mind, who are you??"

Her short blonde hair bobbed slightly.

"I'm... I don't know. I don't have a name."

Now I was just confused.

"What, did you get Amnesia or something?"

She just stared at me again.

"Everyone has a name, okay? Um... I'll just... Call you Alex. Is-"

"Alexis?"

"Sure, that works."

So, this "Alexis" girl was sitting next to me, both of us were sitting on a large rock.

In fact, everything around us was made of the same rock.

The sky was... Beautiful, actually.

Shades of blue, purple and green. It was like I was surrounded by a nebula.

I heard a thundering noise off in the distance.

"Sounds like a storm is coming. Where do we go though? This place is barren. There's nothing here but us. And the sky, I guess.

I didn't get a response.

Alexis was staring at the horizon.

"Hey, Alexis?"

She jolts her head to me.

"Enemies approaching. I'll protect you."

She stands up and I see something that I'll never forget for as long as I live.

Wings.

Feathered angel-like wings.

She turns to me one more time and puts a hand on my cheek, leaving me turning a bit red.

This girl was undeniably beautiful. The wings just added to the picture.

"Stay here. I won't let anyone hurt you."

She took off, flying at a ridiculous speed.

I was still pretty convinced that I was dreaming. Surely I was so far asleep that I was even imagining the pain.

Alexis was gone from sight in ten seconds or less. Wherever she was heading was far away. Yet she must have made it there faster than any car, boat, or aircraft.

It was eerily quiet, silent even.

Not that I had a choice, but I was watching the sky. Literally, nothing else to do except look at the ground and look at the sky. The sky was definitely the better option.

I could shapes and lines move ever so slowly.

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud thundering. Louder than before.

It was getting closer, whatever it was. Rain, I assumed.

Then I saw a flash of light far in the distance.

Following the light was this incredible shockwave that threw me off of my rocky seat.

I must have hit my head against the ground, I lost consciousness.

Who knows how long it actually was, but I woke up with a stiff neck and sore head.

And...

"Good morning, Kyousuke. You're well?"

She...

What?

"Alexis??"

She hands me a cup of tea.

"She's been in my kitchen...?" I thought to myself.

No, before that, I had a hundred different questions.

I asked her who she was.

"I don't know. Sorry."

I asked what she was.

"In this world, I could be considered an angel."

Oh yes, that made a lot of sense.

Not.

I picked up my phone, planning on calling the police.

This woman again insisted that I drink the tea.

She smiles at me, with her emerald green eyes.

"I fell. For you."

I shook my head.

"Sorry, what?!"

She looked at me again, like some kind of lost puppy. Where have I said that before?

"I fell from the sky, and I'm here. For you."

Who the hell was this woman? She knew me by name, she knew who I was. I didn't know her. Or did I? Something felt strange in my chest. I didn't mention that to her.

I had my finger hovering over the emergency number.

I put my phone down.

"I can't do it. I feel like I know you... No, that's not right. Wait, that dream... Was it real?"

Alexis flaps her wings softly.

"That was the first time I met you. You're safe now. I won't leave your side again. This time is different."

There was a lot I didn't know. But I did know that this woman was someone who was important to me.

"You can't stay here though. I don't have enough room."

Alexis tilts her head.

"I have moved into the spare bedroom. Don't worry, I don't have any belongings. It will be kept clean and tidy for you."

I didn't even question that.

It felt like this was a fated meeting. I trusted her.

It's been 6 months since that day. As I said, I still don't have any answers. Nothing has changed.

Except, of course, this "angel" living in my house.

Each and every day, I'm seeing more of her, sides of her I didn't see at first.

Maybe one day I'll know, but... In any case...

I'm glad.

I'm glad she fell to me.
