This isn't a story with plot-wise drawn characters having fictitious names. This is real..….and would have been experienced by anyone. My words are clustered into an article that may strike some similarity with any one of you who reads it.

"You love speed. If you had wings, you would have loved to fly. You enjoy when you move fast. I feel happy that you do not want to stop but fly high. I feel content that my existence in your life has not stopped you from being yourself. It makes me satisfied with myself, that anything about me hasn't changed you. I like you, the way you are, but I cannot be like you, because I am not 'you'.

I am like a dreamy snail. I do not enjoy rushing down the road always, unless it is urgent and have some responsibilities to fulfil. I like to breathe in what I experience. I want to be absorbed into my surroundings for some time. I want to resonate harmoniously with the realm, in which I exist as a human being. I walk, analyse, imagine, feel, dream, and then repeat. I do not want to rush, else I will miss something beautiful- something that may be irrelevant, insignificant to many, yet nature's wonderful creation to my eyes. Those simple things may not follow the conventional definition of beauty but they are simply wonderful. How can I make you feel the depth of my imagination, and present a picture of what exactly caught my attention and how it took me along? I may sound weird if I start talking about them.

You need enormous patience to see the beauty in those simple things: an old house, a small garden, a small wild purple flower growing at the side of the road, an old car that was once the source of joy to its owner. How amusing is it to see a red and black-spotted ladybird that stops crawling, when a particle comes in its way. Have you ever enjoyed watching a big tree that gives shelter to many different creatures? It is like a miniature zoo- squirrels running up and down, birds nestling their young ones and some sitting together in pairs, lizards moving cautiously to catch their prey and preventing themselves from getting preyed by their predators. The leaves get swayed by the breeze and its alarmed residents freeze till the time the tree comes to rest. Look at that dry tree! It was once a home to many animals and provided shade to the people on a hot summer day. It has been devoured by pests and now stands quietly at the roadside, waiting to completely crushed and mixed in the soil.

Now these can be experienced only if you do not rush. I was thinking how can we match each other's speed. What can be our Middle path? Is there any? Well, that is a big topic to think upon. For now, the best is that when we are rushing, I will not try to indulge into the philosophy and science of simplicity; instead, I will dream a little and plan for the forthcoming stoppage; you can enjoy the speedy joy ride. When we are at rest, you can plan for your next ride and I can enjoy watching my 'simple things'. Will that deal work between two people who are poles apart? May be, it will, if you enjoy your space in my presence and give me mine in your presence. I think that is the beauty of a simple companionship, which is unconventional."

Thank you for having enough patience to read this small piece of writing about small things; things that might appear small but can make you think about them.
