Knight's Fork

At this point, exhaustion's hands are starting to reach for his body. But with his dogged determination, he smacks them away and resumes forward. As he enters the room he starts to think about the KNIGHT and his move. "The knight's unique movement makes it impossible to block. Although it can attack a lot of pieces at once it has limited but quick movement. There's always been a debate about which are better: bishops or knights? Some prefer the bishops but I have always preferred the knights. If the knights here are better than the bishops I faced; then I could be in trouble."

With a shrug, he enters into the checkered room. Again there is the chessboard pattern but there is an incredible gust of wind. He looks at the positions of the knights. He steps onto the board. Immediately they come to life. Their eyes open up and he can see them starting towards him with their "L-shaped" moves. They are moving quickly toward him. They have full armour, a wicked broadsword and evil intent. Romeelus grabs his sling and the wind instantly whips it out of his hands. The same thing occurs when he tries his axe, sword and mace. As the knights continue closer forward, Romeelus is running out of weapons and options. "Well at least I got my shield," he replies positively.

Between the sturdy straps and his awesome strength, the wind does not budge his last option. Quickly he glances at the board and sees that they are almost upon him. Moving quickly he straps his shield to his back. Next, he firmly grasps his net and takes out a dagger. He pins the net to the floor with the dagger using his brute strength. He checks to see if the wind is going clockwise. Smiling he grabs his shield, holds on tight and awaits the knights. It happens so quickly he doesn't have time to blink. One knight charges in, he blocks the attack. At the same time, the other one came in and attacked. The broadsword slices into his calf. The bounty-hunter turns to face that attack. That knight moves out of range and the other comes in again. Using the flat of the blade he smacks Romeelus' ear. Pain surfaces, causing tears to come to his eyes. Blinded by the tears, the knights seize the advantage against the helpless bounty-hunter. One would hit him. He would stagger. Then the other came in. Keeping him disoriented was their main plan, toying with him the other.

"The one thing I can't stand is people TOYING with me." He bellows. Tauntingly, they continue. Woozy from the blows Romeelus has had enough. He unleashes his plan. As a knight comes in, Romeelus yanks the dagger from the floor. The net flies upward sucked by the wind. It catches the unsuspecting knight. The other knight was already on his way in. Romeelus raises his shield to block it. He blocks it in such a way that the knight's arms are in the air. Romeelus sticks the dagger into the man's groin. Howling in pain, he drops his sword. Romeelus scoops up the heavy two-handed broadsword and stabs the knight in the chest. In one fluid motion, he spins and stabs and catches the other knight who had recovered from the net and was coming in for the kill. He drops the sword as both his arms had been cut off. As if it never existed, the wind died down. He grabs his weapons.

"Rooks then the Queen." He breathes deeply. With a determination to get his woman back, he moves his tired, sore, bruised, and cut-up body. "I am ready for you ROOKS! I just don't know how yet!" Moving ever forward he heads for his next surprise.
