The Lost Wonders...

I was sitting on my arm chair by the fireplace, enjoying scrumptious samosas and relishing tea when suddenly a cool breeze blew, and I felt a presence. I remembered the time when I had first felt this presence. This adventure dates back to 1st June, 2009, when a beautiful and relaxing summer break was over and it was time to tighten my socks and get ready for what people call 'the year of death' 10th standard!! For sure this year was going to be filled with drama and studies, but the most least anticipated thing happened which flipped the coin of my life!

I was ecstatic to go to school, but only to meet my friends- Sam, Tina and Rahul. We were best of friends and the best part- crazy and weird too!! We loved each other a lot! we used to spend each day as it was gonna be the last one, but never anticipated to actually become true!

As we all settled in our classrooms, our teacher introduced a new student- Jess. She looked like a calm and sweet girl and had a perplexed look on her face. We introduced ourselves to Jess and our assumptions were proved wrong. She was as noisy and crazy as us! She soon paved her way into our hearts and made a place in our group. She was a true gem!! her jokes were a bit lame, but her attitude and character was too alluring! soon we became so close to her that even her warm smile was like a ray of happiness that lifted anyone's mood who rued. But that gem sparkled so bright that it blinded us from her true intentions.

Sam and Rahul for no real reason started avoiding us and spent more time with Jess. it was truly heartbreaking for me and Tina. leaving all the worries and studies to a side, we decided to take a refreshing morning walk. It was truly a sight for sore eyes! lush greenery everywhere, crystal like dew on flowers, sweet smell of fruits, and a cool breeze of fresh air making the flowers dance in delight! it surely did lift our mood. As we walked for a while, Tina told me a shocking truth. She had feelings for Sam! I was so happy for her. But at the same time we were worried as Jess was spoiling everything. We had to do something.

The next day, we went to Sam and Rahul and asked them "Why are you people avoiding us?" they replied "Jess told us that you both wanted to avoid us!" All the four of us remained silent for a few minutes and then apologized to each other, and gave each other a warm hug! Finally Jess was out of our lives!! When everything was coming back to normal, another wonderful thing happened. Tina and Sam were committed! we were so happy for them. as they say, "After every storm there is a rainbow, only if u provide the rays of hope!"

But this happiness did not last long. After a few months of their commitment, Sam distanced himself from Tina. She was drowning in tears, and had lost her mind as she believed what Jess had told her that day. She told "Sam only asked you out as he was given a dare."

I told her that listening to Jess was foolishness, but her belligerent demeanor was not easy to tackle. She decided to break up with Sam, even their friendship! As I tried to stop her, she broke even our friendship.

I was abandoned. Thrown into the ocean of solitude. I spent most of my time reading books or thinking about my biggest mistake- Jess. 3 months had passed but our egos didn't let any of us reach out to the other. truly" ego is a plant which grows on hate and feeds on love!" and suddenly a cool breeze blew and I felt a presence. it was my lost wonders- my irreplaceable memories!. "lost wonders fade away from our mind but live in our heart forever!" Crystal like tears rolled down my cheeks as when I needed those 3 shoulders, none of them came.

"Ego burns words, not memories." and this was proved that day when Tina finally came and spoke to me. After 3 months we were reunited again! a part of me sparkled but a part lied in melancholy as when we finally decided to talk to Sam and Rahul, they left for America as they had won a scholarship!! at the end there is always a thin line between happy endings and reality....
