The National Treasure

One day an important jewel is stolen from the National Museum, regarded as a national treasure of historical importance. The police and CID have been on the case for almost two weeks and have made no headway in their hunt for retrieving the national treasure. Police commissioner Ramesh is summoned by the Chief Minister who demands him to capture the thieves and retrieve the precious jewel by the end of the week. Ramesh is in a pensive mood because they had made no progress at all in this hunt and it was Friday, meaning that they only had three days left and they had no idea what to do.

This is when Shaktimaan arrives in the national capital at Ramesh's home and notices his old friend Ramesh quite tensed. Ramesh explains the crisis to him over a cup of tea and Shaktimaan immediately offers his help. He first decides to take a look at the CCTV footage and suddenly notices that the robber was wearing a bracelet which he knew is worn in a remote village in Uttar Pradesh. Shaktimaan was just about to leave when the great mathematician Ramanujam visits Ramesh's home and offers his assistance. Ramesh accepts the offer and both Shaktiman and Ramanujan set out to the village with Shaktimaan carrying Ramanujam in flight mode.

The two finally arrive and decide to investigate around the village. They spot a small van which resembles the one they saw in the footage. They decide to look inside the small house where the van was parked. Shaktimaan asks Ramanujam to stay back behind him so that in case the robbers resort to violence, he, Ramanujam will be unharmed.

They knock on the door but there is no reply. They knock again when suddenly three gunshots are fired at Shaktimaan through the door which he catches mid-air before they hit him. He kicks the door off its hinges and sends one man flying through the window, onto a pile of hay. He then beats everyone else to pulp and then leaves one man conscious to grill him on where the jewel was hidden.

The frightened man immediately spills the beans that it's in a safe behind the house but says that he does not know the code to the safe as it is built on a complex mathematical formula which is known to their boss whom Shaktiman had already beaten black and blue. He, however, hands over a sheet which was a mathematical problem which is a combination number of the sum of the cubes of 10 and 9 - cube of 10 and also the sum of the cubes of 12 and 1- cube of 12. Shaktiman goes blank and looks at Ramanujam who enigmatically smiles and looks at the paper and types 1729 on the safe and the click the safe opens instantly. 

They find the jewel and return the national treasure to Ramesh. Ramesh thanks Ramanujam and Shaktimaan for their invaluable effort in retrieving the jewel. Finally, the thieves were put behind the bars and the jewel was returned to where it belonged.
