"Shall we bunk the office today?", I asked my husband from the corner of my eyes.

It was 11 AM in the morning and the idea of taking random off from the office suddenly popped up in my mind.

"What? I have already logged in," He was surprised.

"So? You can still take off. The day has just started," I tried to convince him.

"I know but I have already things lined up for today," He explained his helplessness.

"Look, work is always lined up, be it office or home. A random off will be a different thing to do in routine life," I said.

He got quiet for a while as it was an out of a blue request from my side. We had a lot of discussion on what we will do, why to waste one holiday, blah blah. After a complete half-hour courtroom discussion, I managed to convince him.

"Now what?" My husband asked after setting his out-of-office email.

"Lunch treat from my side. Let's check where to go," I said.

"Alright, as you say," He decided to follow my plan.

In the evening, we had a nice tea time over which we discussed our future plans.

"It was really a good day and I am happy you took off for me," I thanked him while finishing my tea.

"Actually, I also liked this idea. Although I was skeptical in the morning I just went with the flow and it was indeed a relaxing day," He admitted.

We make numerous plans for upcoming weekend and holidays, few get executed and few just slips away. Life gets busy in all the chaos of executing and slipping plans. There should be moments in our life where we take a pause and see what's around us. Are we cherishing what we are earning? Are we thankful and proud of our journey? If yes, then it becomes a motivation for the future, and if no, then we have to seriously take time to evaluate our direction.
