In this modern age, the beliefs of Indian mythology held little sway over my rational mind. I was a city girl, skeptical of spirits and the supernatural. My life's philosophy had been firmly grounded in the tangible and the scientific. That was until a fateful encounter changed everything.

During a routine vacation, I found myself at my grandparents' house, as was customary for our family. My parents were notoriously strict, and freedom had never been in my favor. However, luck was on my side this time. My parents dropped me off and left for a business trip, granting me a rare taste of independence. I relished the winter's cool breeze, savoring the newfound freedom.

As the days passed, a sense of adventure began to stir within me. I yearned for something beyond the ordinary. My curiosity led me to a nearby forest, an area restricted due to its association with mythological beliefs. In the heart of this mystical forest, I stumbled upon a wishing well, said to possess the power to fulfill any wish. There was a catch, though, a condition of which I was unaware.

I stood before the well, the echoes of ancient stories swirling in my mind. Brimming with curiosity and a dash of daring, I made a bold wish – to see a spirit. As the words escaped my lips, a mysterious voice responded, "Your wish is granted without condition because..." The sentence hung in the air, unfinished, leaving me in suspense.

I opened my eyes, hoping to witness a glimpse of the supernatural. Yet, to my surprise, there was no one to be found. An eerie chill crept down my spine, and I hastily left the place, a sense of unease trailing me.
