Against All Gods there's One
Against All Gods there's One
Sitting upright, with closed eyes
Ahmed prays with both palms wide open
Side to side.
Calls his god "Allah"
And recites Namaz 5 times a day.
Shiva bows his head,
On his adjoined palms,
In front of the holy idols
Referred to as his "bhagwan",
And recites hanuman chalisa
Whenever he's losing calm.
Joseph entwines his fingers,
Closes his eyes and recites verses of the Bible
In front of Jesus,
Whom he calls his "almighty",
And visits him in the church every Sunday.
Bending over, with head on the floor
Ardaas on the lips, and a turban hardcore
Mandeep goes to Gurudwara
And remembers his "Waheguru"
His inspiration behind distributing lungar...
Ahmed, Shiva, Joseph, Mandeep
Four different religions
Under four different names,
Though, whatever they practice
Intends the same,
Their gods have different forms
Different shapes, different homes
And different face,
For their devotees remember them
In their own profound ways...
But the truth remains unchanged-
We all have come.
We all will go.
The sender was the same.
The soul will know.
