Just Another Drink
Just Another Drink
Wasted away, he lay on the bench
He felt happiness and joy
Like a petulant child, he refused advice
And so the bottles lay scattered like toys
Then the alcohol left his system
And the ecstasy faded away
He felt dreary, dull and sad
It was like this every single day
And each day, he vowed to stop
Yet each night they could see the alcohol’s stink
He swore a solemn oath to give it up
And each night he’d say “Just another drink?”
