Love Is But A Ploy
Love Is But A Ploy
A relationship too short, and
You left me to my own grief,
What do I have left with me,
No memory too, of a love so brief.
I am drowning my angst,
That’s what you think,
The bottles are my only companion,
Not in sorrow, but in celebration I drink.
There is no help you can give me,
I want to be in this inebriated state,
Good riddance from an expensive relationship,
Freedom is what I celebrate.
No more nagging to be clean,
No more haggling for a boys night out,
I am on my own once again,
No one to question or to doubt.
Let me give one last advice,
To control your life, Love is but a ploy,
Don’t fall for it, or else like me,
You just become a toy.
