A Silly Quest

For the longest time

I've been searching for a smile,

That's etched across my lips,

While my mind paints a line.

But the progeny of the pen

Is always much dismal,

I fear the reader's aches

They do expand.

For that cheer, I look within,

Finding it hidden away, unseen.
