When We See You Off
When We See You Off
Its the day which I wish would never come,
Because it comes and never goes.
It starts with cheers and smiling lips,
So that you don't feel the pain.
The train comes and moves on with you,
It moves not on tracks, but
Slides down them to enter our hearts,
The shrill whistle is none other than
The throbbing pain of broken hearts, and lonely us,
It enters the tunnels of our veins and arteries-
And tears us apart;
But our lips smile so that you don't see the tears
Which flow down our cheeks,
'Coz eyes have not learnt to obey.
This is the day when we see you off!
