Unbalanced Scales
Unbalanced Scales
Two boys sit for an exam; to qualify
Both put in their best, this we can't deny
The first - a child of poverty, sits
A farmer's son competing in wits
A village schooling with least of facilities
Then graduated too in utter scarcity
Earning and learning to achieve his goal
'Determined to succeed' tattooed on his soul
In his fading clothes and worn out shoes
He was always to some bookstore glued
The other born with a silver spoon in his mouth
A child with opportunities and so well he sprouts
Experts at coachings prepare him well
And it's quite obvious that he will excel
Internet, magazines, books, and guides
Whatever he wants; money provides
And presently he needn't go out to earn
So twenty-four by seven he has time to learn
As both will put in their very best
Adversity and opportunity are at test
So let seats be reserved not on caste or creed
But when adversity tries, give it a chance to succeed
