An Unwelcome Visitor, Covid 19
An Unwelcome Visitor, Covid 19
We know not whence you come,
Whilst, not a visitor who's welcome.
Imprisoning us within our homes,
Behind our unlocked doors.
Once again, we'll feel alive,
In safety and delight.
It won't be a wait forever;
Until the times favour.
The breeze still blows,
The sun still shines,
The moon does glow,
For days and nights.
And the rain on my roof,
Does pour sometimes.
But, nothing feels the same,
Something indeed is strange!
I stick out my solemn head,
Through my dainty little window-
The sky is its pristine blue,
In light n dark shades of hue.
The birds fly in freedom,
Whilst I 'm caged in prison.
The park outside my window,
Lay desolate lifelessly;
Not a child squeals in joy,
No passersby dot the alley.
Some growing tired of homes,
Some walking towards homes,
Misery smites thousands of lives,
The fortunate are safely alive.
Oh, it won't be a wait forever;
Until the times favour.
Just a little while of endurance,
Will redeem divine benevolence.
It's a little while of uncertainty,
Ere the resolution of a mystery.
Fear of the 'devil' plagues us alike,
Caste, creed, colour or religion;
Is clearly a vain divide.
As we all come to realise
Children of the Almighty divine.
Hands fold in prayers
For oneself and others;
As one, we all unite
Together for the respite.
Humanity takes a roundabout,
As kind hands stretch out,
Angels in rescue don their robes,
Medicine 'n science mete out hopes.
Fear! You may well be in glee,
But in time, you will see!
Toiled in gruesome hours,
Victory will be erelong ours.
Freedom doors will swing open,
To reclaim what is taken.
A lot may forever be lost,
A lot it might have cost.
They say you're here to stay,
But, I reckon, just as a stray-
It won't be, we know, an easy fight;
It would need our united might.
But, after every fall we rise,
We open our inner eyes,
Finding ways through calamities
Mankind survives adversities.
Just a little while of endurance
Will redeem divine benevolence!
It's a little while of uncertainty
Ere the resolution of a mystery.
It won't be a wait forever;
Until the times favour.
