As the clock ticked along

My patience ran thin

...I felt pain within

As we walked together

Through the grass on the plains

...Where it always rains

As we walked hand in hand

We laughed at jokes

...Silly ones of course

As the cloud flaked out

We looked up to the sky

...I waited for the reply

She let her hair go free

As the gentle breeze came by

...She sang a lullaby

She ran towards the lake

I picked up a twig

...Time was flying quick

She smiled back at me

And danced on naked feet

...My heart skipped a beat

I felt the answer would come

In the quiet little afternoon
