Doors That Day
Doors That Day
Doors that day were kept shut
to halt the sea water entering this city as high tide was in action mightily
Doors that day were thrown open
by almighty’s heavy sky, raining down heavily as the clouds busted violently
Doors that day where forcefully kept open
to release gallons of dam water as their doors were on the verge of bursting
Doors that day did not open
of stranded vehicles- that were drowning as the water in them kept flooding
Doors that day were opened
by strangers- for flood stranded wet school kids stuck in their school bus shivering
Doors that day were opened
of kitchens making warm tea- for strangers on flooded streets stranded and waiting
Doors that day were opened
by strangers- to feed strangers who got stuck for hours and waited in traffic unmoving
Doors that day were opened
by offices- for their stranded staff members so that they could get shelter without worrying
Doors that day were opened
by unknown- for unknown so that they could avail drinking water and get refreshed
Doors of hearts, homes and kitchens came unconditionally wide open
in this city that never sleeps –interestingly
Doors of unknown-known for support to known-unknown unconditionally wide open
in this city of Mumbai, known to bounce back again and again- quickly
