Drip Away
Drip Away
Every night I go for a run
I clutch a broken shard in my fist
A broken heart in my chest
I round the corner and hide from the light
I let my body crumple to the dirt
I couldn't care less about how it hurts
I open my hand to see a slit
Blood streaming from my palm to my wrist
I watch as blood streams down my arm
And pool on the pavement
I lift the blade into place
And slice my life away at a steady pace
I hear my name cut through the silence
And I take a bandage and cover my work
And plaster on a fake smile
And pretend I'm fine for a while...
