Dysfunctionality
Dysfunctionality
The farmer stands,
Dry, cracked and scarred.
The land; a mirror to his heart.
Washing my hands,
Wet, soapy and perfumed.
I grumble; the water only trickles out.
The politician screams,
I pledge I swear, I truly care.
She reads; script of black and white.
The fisherman lies drunk,
Punctured, rotting and warped.
His boat; a victim of ocean's own firing squad.
The astronaut lands,
Triumphant, heroic, applauded.
His spaceship; voyaging at light speed.
The politician in white,
Loved, respected and sagacious.
His smile; stained with champagne and caviar.
