Flashbacks Of An Unknown War
Flashbacks Of An Unknown War
Alas, there’s no cure for pain
Unless am willing to switch the memory lane
With years and years of threaded thoughts
Needed an escape from the marching lot
War zones are blueprints of souvenir tears
Little I realized the near and dear
Could cast a spell of fear
And come to haunt me for years and years
A long day under the scorching sun
Yielded nothing while the enemies come
The golden streaks that once touched my land
Disappeared like the hourglass sand
Trapped and oozed I heard a cry
The marching band and my heavy sigh
Hid alone in the dark
Hoping to hear the morning lark
My weary eyes saw misty souls
The body damaged with bullet holes
With feeble strength and a little grasp
I quietly raise the epitaph
My heart beats hard and fast
Wondering how long the ride will last
The memories go deep and far
The flashbacks of an unknown war
