Happy New Year!!

Just a page flipped,

A day passed,

While perusing,

That might seem like all,

Yet a deeper look at the date,

31st of December,

Is what it reads,

A truly delightful restart,

The clock hits 12,

And you become Cinderella with her balls,

A fresh slate,

A new start,

The burden of the past,

Lighter on your shoulders

The worries of tomorrow,

Drowned by the counting,

I'll tell you once, 

And you listen well,

I have but one piece of advice,

Just smile darling.

Fret not,

Weep not,

Don't drown it with a drink,

Rather the merry shambling.

Honey smile,

You've come so far,

You don't realise the storms you've crossed,

The friends you've made,

The hearts you've fluttered,

The smiles you caused,

It's all you,

Just you honey.

And if you have no one to say it to you,

No one to embrace you,

I shall hug the doubts away,

Remind you,

In words as loud as the silence, 

Honey, I'm proud of you,

You've come so far.

Now don't start worrying,

I shall shake you silly,

Look at your family,

Then your friends,

Thank them all and move ahead.

For all your dreams you keep dreaming,

And all the goals you are yet to reach, 

If my words haven't done enough,

Go look in the mirror,

There you shall find,

A willing candidate for all the believing and reaching,
