I AM A GIRL
I AM A GIRL
I am a girl!
Born in a family
Love, care and respect everybody.
Get medium or no education.
But still I smile and keep them smiling.
Want to sing, play and dance,
Bloom like flower and emerge as flying colors.
But force to bond into marriage.
Still I agree.
I am a girl!
How difficult is to move in another family.
But I adjust,
Playing my roles and responsibilities,
Making a place somewhere in their hearts.
When one day being asked for my jewellery
Being innocent- I handed them.
Next being asked for money,
Gave my saved pennys.
But received their anger-
Call your parents.
But why-I asked.
For money.
But they are retired.
Then ask to die.
I cried, was scolded,
Tortured, locked.
I was a meek recipient of everything,
Didn’t raise my voice.
I am a girl!
Finally one day
Was forced, oiled and fired.
I cried, a weak cry of help,
Which soon turned into ashes?
I accept my fate, my destiny.
I am a girl!
