Home: Lost In Bricks And Cement

Home, sweet home,

Is not just a word or phrase,

But a world of emotions and sentiments,

Which fills one's heart

With love, care, strength, and protection.

The basic needs of a person,

According to Maslow's laws,

Where relationships grows,

Bonds develop,

And life begins.

But with the advent of modernity,

The whole scenario changed,

Home became a house,

Lost in bricks and cement,

With high-rise buildings,

Life seemed caged,

In small BHK flats.

Unknown and unaware in their apartments,

Just busy in their own lives,

Earning money and seeking comfort,

Became their only aims.

Joint families turned nuclear,

Due to the lack of space,

Which actually exists in their hearts.

Kids no longer hear lullabies or fairy tales from grandmas,

Nor do they have walks and playtime with granddads.

No one is there to teach them life's morals,

Their childhood is lost in mobiles or tablets,

Stuck in their air-conditioned flats,

They are least sensitized to nature or the natural world,

Nor do they care about humanity or society.

The future world seems to be growing as a machine,

Lacking feelings and sentiments, like non-living beings,

In the reels, they may appear happy with all sorts of comforts in life,

But in reality, they are just caged birds with a meaningless existence.
