I am Victor: He who gave up

Once a hero, now a villain,

I am a victor, or so they say,

But inside me, something's missing,

A hollow emptiness that won't go away.

Betrayed by time and loved ones,

I fought for what I believed was right,

But the torture I endured was gruesome,

And I lost the will to continue the fight.

I gave up on everything, it's true,

But what choice did I have left?

The pain and suffering I went through,

Left me feeling broken and bereft.

Now I walk a path of darkness,

Inflicting pain on those who cross me,

But deep down, I feel the starkness,

Of the hero I used to be.

I may have fallen from grace,

But I'm content with what I am,

Yet the missing piece I can't replace,

Is the love and trust I once had.

I may never find redemption,

Or the happiness I long for,

But I'll continue on this path of destruction,

Until my soul can be reborn.
