Isn't It 21st Century?

We were little and didn't know,

What these humans were capable of.

It seemed that they care,

But they love only for their gain.

We grew and the harsh reality hits us,

Eating chalks turned to drugs,

Lollipops to cigarettes,

And we knew at that moment, 

Being born was a curse. 

We made this so called 'society' ,

And if we are different, they tell us to die.

Decades have passed,

And nothing changed.

It's all about give and take,

And that's the candour we cannot escape.

Isn't it 21st century?

Yet, why people still have the audacity to bully?

Why humans are not respected with courtesy?

Why are adults judged with their salaries?

Why can't we all live with harmony?
