Loved and Lived
Loved and Lived
If alas I had known;
how to knot your hair,
or tie your shoe laces,
or to prepare you to face this world,
in the fleeting rain of sorrow covered mud,
or puddles of joy,
Alas I had known how to reach the fathoms of your heart,
Half a lifetime gone just to tie and untie,
Having forgotten the mindless race,
We could have taken a vow in the starlit night and sunbaked day,
Loved and Lived.
