One Year Later

In my dreams, I cling to you

Another kiss, another life

Entwine my fingers with pale vines 

Grip it so tight and lace upto my neck

Slowly tying the knot 

Laying me to rest in this bed of thorns

While I scream promises of eternally yours’

Hailing you like the angel beneath the veil of my eyes

A mirage you built with empty promises

From subtle looks and summer eyes 

Left me floating on maybe someday 

And futures of running away 

Hand in hand 

We ran from this awful fate 

You wore in the form of a diamond ring
