Relapse

Last night I dreamt of relapsing 

Hand in hand with an old flame

The feeling of your cold embrace

Left me shaking, sweating, and collapsing

The lifeline leaving me to flatline

A familiar taste leaving me to waste away 

Tempting me always I hear you calling

To sink your teeth in one last time 

Awakened by the sound of you screaming my name

Shaking thinking I’m falling back to the familiar pain

My mind dead set on reminding me of my old ways

And the old things I used to crave every day

Paralyzing me it’s hard to breathe

When I know your calls won’t cease

And if I cave an inch you’ll take control

Even all the souls in hell 

Would pity a man so damned
