Slowly But Surely

Some days, I wake up in haste; 

On other days, it's all a haze. 

Sometimes, I thank my luck; 

Other times, I cry out for change. 

Some nights, I cash in on the fully checked-out to-do list; 

Other nights, I simply lay there, watching the clock tick.

In a laboured, crawling race, 

Parting with time, 

Slowly but surely, 

Disintegrating into a blur.
