That Muddy Stone’s Melody

That Muddy Stone’s Melody

There was once a muddy stone,

Who dreamt of the golden throne;

God’s shredding tears put it under the weather,

Unending storms and anguished hurricanes turned its skin into leather!

It perceived as if a cobbler,

And knew well the art of mending soles;

No doubt the story of this stone was penned by Hellen Keller,

How it didn’t know to see the rainbow in life’s entangled moulds.

On a clock’s tick,

It yet turned into the Daruma doll, how sick;

Who woke up to light and yet in baffled knits,

And it’s petals flourished by wits.

For another moment faced by the tall bars,

And left sole to mount the walls of abattoirs for hours;

Quintessential was it had the lantern of hope,

In the unfair mist of despair!
