The Cost Of Everything
The Cost Of Everything
There is a cost for everything,
hear me out,
It is not necessarily what you are thinking about.
It not the notes or coins you toss,
But no matter what you do your about to take a loss.
For when you give someone a shoulder, or hear a broken heart,
You think it's free to give, but here's the price you have to count.
The cost you pay for loving, is a piece of your own soul,
The cost you pay for silence, is losing your control.
They say love is selfless, you don't have to pay a dime.
But oh but they don't tell you, that emotional wreck is your price.
So the next someone says they don't get anything in return,
Tell them sure there is, and you will someday learn.
