THE JUMPING JUVENILES

THE JUMPING JUVENILES

Snob Nose;

Eyes half closed

See no one,

Locked lips - Smile at none.

He grips the palm

Of a chubby tot, his heart’s balm.

 Her twinkling eyes

Smile at every one she spies.

On her way to the brand new school

Best in the city, plush and cool .

Grandpa looks around in disdain,

Attempts to control Chubby in vain!

The tiny cherubs all packed up tight

Fingers in mittens with caps bright.

Playful bundles of energy unbounded

Mums and grandparents have them surrounded!

Out in the smog

A lone dog

Curls up tight

Bleeding, tired from scars of the night .

Across, on a sandy mound

Sleep its tormentors, strewn around

Like crumpled bags

The sad shapes sag .

Apart, a few paces

 Old folks, some in braces

Nursing their aches and cramps

Zealously guard the jumping tramps.

Racing, shoving amid whoops of delight

A spark, a row, erupts in a fight

And turns into ugly show of might

Disheveled, dirty , they now look a fright!

Gramps go frantic

At such Impish antic!

What a sad and sorry plight!

“Our darling jumping angels bright !
