The Little Scarlet Balloon
The Little Scarlet Balloon
A little, scarlet balloon rose away,
From a petite girl's hand.
Mirthfully, the balloon flew on its way;
where it hummed gazing at the land.
The balloon curiously was shuddering
Feeling the mesmerizing, mewling air
Its mind was wondering
That was what was the sight from up there?
It looked down and saw tiny wattles, huts
And the hustle-bustle of the bazaar.
It saw the groves of sumacs with nuts,
Near to which was a glimmering car.
It saw an influx of schoolgirls and boys,
Who scurried away at the ring of the bell.
They exulted and hopped making noise
And they jumped up with a yell!
The balloon rose ahead and away,
It was elated to be in the clear sky!
It was an escapade to say,
As it rose up and high.
