The Wildflower
The Wildflower
From the smouldering fire blaze,
Rose an unflinching wildflower;
Her head raised up with dignity,
And heart brimmed with tenacity.
A spik-and-span soul she owned,
And festooned nub of vital spark.
Resolute and steadfast in nature,
Nothing could pause her odyssey.
The demigoddess battled to win,
Despite the hard nuts to crack.
After all, she was a born stalwart,
Who bloomed herself from gravel.
We can address her as 'Gladiolus',
The floral totem of valiant humans.
Sword-like leaves and spikes of it
Remind of the valour of our heroine.
Let us witness her marvellous acts,
And her daring ride to soaring peaks.
