A Meeting with the Athletic Diva

A Meeting with the Athletic Diva

Whenever I watch athletic games during the day, I start having dreams related to sports. I am a follower of P.T. Usha who is a track and field athletic diva. She is also called the “queen of Indian track and field athlete”. When she was a young athlete, I loved her stout body and running style. She is from a middle-class family and her hard work brought popularity and fame. She played well in her 1984’s Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Around 3 years ago, a famous playschool 'Millennium Kids' sponsored a 'kid’s marathon' to help the kids become fit, healthy, and happy. My kids also participated in that marathon and I was surprised to see the legend, P.T. Usha, as the judge. I was thrilled and excited to meet her. It was a great privilege for me to take an autograph and spend some time with her.

On the final day of the marathon, we woke up early and started preparing. We reached Egmore stadium and saw a huge crowd. We chose a place to sit and waited for a couple of hours. Suddenly, I heard background music and people started running quickly to place their cameras at appropriate places. I was standing in a queue and a huge horse cart appeared in front of the gate. A tall and dark lady was sitting on a couch and waved her hand towards the crowd. All were shouting and some tried to shake hands with the legend. I stretched out my hand while the cart was passing in front of me. After a couple of attempts, I got a chance to shake hands with her.

The marathon was going to start. Kids started taking their positions. The coach started blowing the whistle and uttered, “on your mark, get set go……!” As per guidelines, Mrs. Usha was standing on one side of the ground, which was the ending point of the marathon. Kids started running and gathering on that side. She noticed kids who were running very fast and distributed the awards. She was encouraging kids by saying 'come on little champ'.

It was a great feeling to see kids taking the prize from a great personality and seeing this I thought it would have been great if I were also a kid. We took several photographs. It was a great experience and a memorable incident of my life.

Now 3 years have passed but still, the memory of that awesome moment is deep inside my heart. Suddenly, I heard that my daughter was calling me to start her online class. I woke up from my dream and found that it was indeed true. I felt really happy and kissed my daughter and narrated my dream to her.

This was my second dream story. In my next story, I will again talk about my latest dream. I hope, you enjoyed my dream story, and if yes, please share the story of your recent dream in the comment section. I will read and reply to your stories immediately.
