Inspired by news stories

Mitanjali was a first-year media student at a well-known university in Gorakhpur. She had a crush on her classmate, Alok, who was smart and talented. He had recently got the opportunity to work with a renowned director in a film's sequel. Mitanjali was obsessed with Alok and tried to get close to him, but he was not interested in her. He found her annoying and creepy. He tried to avoid her and told her to leave him alone, but she did not listen. She tried to send messages to him, tried to follow him on Instagram but Alok denied her request.

One day, Alok got really frustrated and confronted Mitanjali in front of everyone. He told her that he hated her and that she should stay away from him. He also revealed that he had a girlfriend, Megha, who was studying in another college. Alok had lied to Mitanjali about his girlfriend, but Mitanjali believed him. Mitanjali was heartbroken and humiliated. She felt that Alok had betrayed her and that he was the only reason for her existence. She decided to end her life and blame him for it. She wrote a suicide note and left it in her hostel room. She also mentioned one of her professors, Mrs. Pathak, who was kind and supportive to her. She lied that Mrs. Pathak had harassed her and tried to downgrade her in her studies. She then overdosed herself on Paracetamol tablets and went to sleep, hoping to never wake up again.

The next day, her roommate found her unconscious and called for help. She was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late. She was declared dead on arrival. The police arrived and found her suicide note. They arrested Alok and took him to the police station. They suspected him of abetting Mitanjali's suicide and also of having an affair with Mrs. Pathak. They interrogated him and tortured him, but he denied all the charges. He told them that he barely knew Mitanjali and that he had nothing to do with her death. He also said that he respected Mrs. Pathak as his teacher and that he had no relationship with her. He pleaded with them to let him go and to check his phone and laptop for evidence.

The police officer said to Alok after checking his phone and Mitanjali's phone: Chats delete kardie ho kya? Uske likhe hue note ke hisaab se vo tumko daily message karne ki koshish karti thi

Alok: Sir, she never messaged me on whatsapp.

Police officer: Aur yeh kya,Instagram pe block kar rakhe ho kya usse?

Alok: Sir,mai nahi chahta tha vo mujhe follow kare, aur usne kamsekam 5 baar request bheji hogi mujhe. Mai irritate ho gaya, toh mere paas koi aur rasta hi nahi bacha tha, block karna pada.

Police officer: Aur tumhare block karne ke kaaran usne… Anyways you can go.

Alok: Sir,laptop bhi check karenge aap?

Police officer: Abhi zarurat nahi hai… Tum dono ke beech ka connection hi dekhna tha kahan kahan aata hai jo ki phone ke through hume pata chal gaya hai. Vaise maine ek baat notice ki tumhare phone pe pictures bahut kam hai aisa kyun?

Alok: Sir,vo storage full hojata hai na itna sab photo, video rakhke toh humne laptop me transfer karlia.

Police officer: Laptop on karo aur saare recent photos dikhao mujhe

Alok: Sure,sir. Yeh dekhiye…

Police officer takes a look at the recent photos and asks Alok:

Yeh wali photo me aisa kyun lag raha hai kuch erase kia gaya hai?

Alok: Sir,vo actually…

Police officer: Bolo bolo aur iss photo me vo Mitanjali bhi nahi dikh rahi hai. Didn't she come to the college at that day? Aur yeh vahi professor hai na? Mrs. Pathak

Alok: Yes,sir actually humne socha Mrs. Pathak aur baaki sab itne fabulous dikh rahe the toh kyun na photo click ki jaaye?Mrs. Pathak agreed to click a photo with us,and then yeh photo maine Instagram pe post kia tha but phir bahut troll kia gaya Mitanjali ko that she looks so creepy and all… and mujhe bola ki aise ladki ke saath koi dost kaise reh sakta hai so I decided to erase her from the photo.

Police officer: Pehle kyun nahi bataya yeh? And block tumne toh abhi recently kia hoga, possible yeh bhi hai ki usne suicide iske kaaran ki ho. Vo jitna tumhare lie pagal lag rahi hai;uss hisaab se usne tumhare profile ko daily stalk kia hoga. Public profile hai na tumhara?

Alok: Yes,sir public profile hai par…

Police officer: Par var kuch nahi… Ek kaam karo yeh photos mujhe send karo, okay? Humse kuch aur toh nahi chupa rahe ho na bhai?

Alok: Nahi sir,bas yehi ek chiz reh gayi thi maine socha zyada zaruri nahi hai,vo kya hai ki….

Police officer: Haan haan poora Ramayan nahi sunna mujhe. Theek hai? Photos bhejo aur ghar jao apne…

Alok then received a call from his friend Ajay, shouting at him:

Dimaag toh theek hai na tumhara?hein, abe samajhte kya ho apne aap ko tum…

Alok: Abe shaant hoja please abhi mat suna

Ajay: Nahi suno bhutnike, yeh jo raita phelaye ho na isse saaf karo, tumhare kaaran usne khudkushi Karli. Kya zarurat thi uss din usse daatne ki? Pagla gaye ho?

Alok cuts the call and switches off his phone…

Alok then went home and closed the door of his room and started cursing: Mitanjali, you committed suicide because I just denied your love. You stupid little b*tch, having no damn ambitions in life… And what the heck did you write in your note huh? Khud dhang se padh nahi payi toh Mrs. Pathak pe inzaam lagadia, tumhara dimaag chalta hi nahi hoga, isliye yeh sab chutiyapa ho raha hai. Tumhare vajah se ab logon ko lag raha hai mera aur Mrs. Pathak ka chakkar chal raha hai. I feel like I am going crazy, tum mar toh gayi ho lekin phir bhi jeevan me shaanti nahi hai.

Alok gets so much angry that he throws the mug kept on the table. The mug falls on the floor and gets shattered into pieces…

On the other side, the police officer directly comes to Mrs. Pathak's home to interrogate her instead of calling her at the police station…

Police officer sits down at the sofa meanwhile Mrs. Pathak asks: What do you want to know?

Police officer: Arey abhi toh aapke ghar aaya hoon… Kuch aur baatein karte hai , interrogation baad me karlenge , bataiiye kaisi chal rahi hai zindagi?

Mrs. Pathak: Jaisi chalni chahiye

Police officer: Kya matlab?

Mrs. Pathak: Ab vo kya hai ki mai professor hoon , din bhar ek hi jagah bethke macchar nahi maarti hoon

Police officer: Zyada chalu samajh rahi ho apne aap ko?

Mrs. Pathak: Banna padta hai

Police officer: Aap mujhe chai paani ke lie nahi puchengi?

Mrs. Pathak: Kya lenge?

Police officer: Lene ka toh bahut kuch mann kar raha hai… Lekin abhi filhaal chai se kaam chala lenge ,bana lete hai aap?

Mrs. Pathak: Ghisne walon me se nahi hoon isliye bana paati hoon

Police officer: Hum ijjat se baat kar rahe hai tumse aur tum ho ki kabse batdameezi se baat kie ja rahi ho.

Mrs. Pathak: Aap toh naraz ho gaye. Abhi bhi kuch aur baat karni hai ya phir aap interrogation chalu karenge?

Police officer: Saare evidence tumhare aur uss ladke ke khilaaf hai. Kaise bachaogi khud ko?

Mrs. Pathak: Apne nazariye ko badaliye sir…

Police officer: Kaahe? Abhi toh bahut attitude dikha rahi thi mujhe, ab kya hua?

Mrs. Pathak: Mera iss case me koi involvement nahi hai, I am being framed…

Police officer: Oh really? Lekin vo Alok toh maan gaya ki tumhara uske saath affair chal raha hai

Mrs. Pathak: What the f**k!

Police officer: Tameez se Mrs. Pathak… Vo toh yeh bhi keh raha tha vo axar aapke ghar ,aapse milne bhi aaya karta tha

Mrs. Pathak: What nonsense! Usse pata bhi nahi hoga mai rehti kahan hoon

Police officer: Yeh toh aap mujhse keh rahi hai. Tum dono ka kya chakkar hai? Kyun mera time waste kar rahe ho.. Sach batado

Mrs. Pathak: Aap bakwas kar rahe ho yeh sach hai, mujhe Alok pe vishwas hai vo aisa nahi bol sakta

Police officer: Alok ko bachane ki koshish ,pakka kuch na kuch chal raha hai tum dono ke beech… Anyways ek chance deta hoon, yeh evidence vagrah sab mita dunga aur ek dum fresh life shuru karna

Mrs. Pathak: Aur uske badle me aapko kya chahiye?

Police officer's expression shifts, and he gives Mrs. Pathak a dark, penetrating look which sends shivers down her spine.

Mrs. Pathak realising his intentions gets up from the chair and takes a step back…(saying): No, please. It would be better if you go quickly.

Police officer gets up from the sofa and asks: What happened? Just think about it Mrs. Pathak… No one would find about it, a secret between me and you. I would erase the evidence and you could start a new glamorous life!

Mrs. Pathak tries to find courage and says: I said no. Now get lost from my home.

The police officer exits Mrs. Pathak's home.

Mrs. Pathak was so angry that she started screaming loudly and then she tried to calm herself down but still sounding very frustrating, a student then messaged her to not worry about the ongoing situation. Ma'am exhaled her frustration on that student by messaging: This is my personal matter; I will handle it. Who are you to tell me that I shall worry or not? Concentrate on your studies.

Mrs. Pathak started whispering to herself: Lectures bunk karenge nalayak saale aur phir message karenge, padhai pe dhyaan 0 aur message karenge 100 baar, block hi kardeti hoon sabne pagal karke rakha hai mujhe…

Mrs. Pathak then starts crying.

Meanwhile, the news of Mitanjali's suicide spread like wildfire in the university. The students and the faculty were shocked and saddened by the tragedy. They also blamed Alok and Mrs. Pathak for driving Mitanjali to suicide. They demanded justice for Mitanjali and punishment for Alok and Mrs. Pathak. They staged protests and rallies and shouted slogans against them. They also vandalized Alok's hostel room and his film project equipment. They accused him of being a murderer, a cheater, and a rapist. They also harassed and threatened Mrs. Pathak. They demanded that she be fired and arrested.

Mrs. Pathak and Alok were called to the Vice Chancellor's office.

Vice Chancellor Chauhan said: Aap dono ne shayad guess kar hi lia hoga ki maine aap dono ko kyun bulaya hai. Mrs. Pathak, this wasn't expected from you, you have always maintained decency and a strict boundary between you and the students. So, as you both know, you both are the suspects for Mitanjali's suicide. Now see, I don't want these students and especially our faculty protesting for nonsense shit instead of studying. So, until things get sorted out, I am suspending you both for the reputation of our university.

Mrs. Pathak said: I assure you, sir. I had nothing to do with it. I instead tried my best to make her comfortable in my class and teach in such a gentle way that she could also understand and she wouldn't feel that she is lacking behind and vo affair wali baat jo feli hai vo toh bas ek faltu rumour hai

Alok, quite nervously said: Sir,mai toh usse baat hi rarely kia karta tha. How could I be involved?

Vice Chancellor Chauhan said: I am not in a mood to argue with you both right now, aur bhi zaruri kaam hai mujhe. You both may leave the room. Thankyou.

Mrs. Pathak decided to block Alok on all her social media handles as she thought it might lower the suspicion but it created an additional barrier between them.

The only person who stood by Alok and Mrs. Pathak was Mr. Gupta. He knew Alok well and trusted him. He also knew Mrs. Pathak and respected her. He also knew that there wasn't any affair going on between Alok and Mrs. Pathak. He believed that they were innocent and that Mitanjali had lied in her suicide note. He tried to help them and to find the truth. He visited Alok in the police station and assured him that he would get him out. He also visited Mrs. Pathak in her house and consoled her. He told them that he had hired a lawyer for them and that he had some clues that could prove their innocence.

First, Mr. Gupta decided to make the relations better between Alok and Mrs. Pathak as Mrs. Pathak believed it was all Alok's fault and he only spread the rumour of the affair taking the suicide case as an opportunity for publicity and Mrs. Pathak had created an image of Alok as an opportunist in her mind. Mr. Gupta decided to resolve the matter first, it got sorted out but Mrs. Pathak still wasn't convinced. Mr. Gupta consoled both of them to have some food, due to the suicide case both of them weren't feeling like eating anything.

Mr. Gupta had found out that Mitanjali had a history of mental illness and that she had attempted suicide before. He had also found out that Mitanjali's father, Mr. Sahni, was a violent and abusive man. He had divorced Mitanjali's mother, who was a drug addict. She had also tried to sell Mitanjali to a pervert for money to buy drugs when she was a child. He had escaped from the law and had been living in hiding. He had a grudge against Alok and Mrs. Pathak and had planned to take revenge on them. He had manipulated Mitanjali and had encouraged her to kill herself and to frame Alok and Mrs. Pathak. He had also planted some evidence in Alok's and Mrs. Pathak's belongings to frame them.

Mr. Gupta had collected some proof of Mr. Sahni's involvement and had given it to the lawyer. He hoped that it would be enough to clear Alok's and Mrs. Pathak's names. He also hoped that the police would arrest Mr. Sahni and bring him to justice.

The case went to court and the trial began. The prosecution presented Mitanjali's suicide note and some photos and videos that showed Alok and Mrs. Pathak together. They also presented some witnesses who testified against them. They claimed that Alok and Mrs. Pathak had an affair and that they had harassed Mitanjali. They asked for the maximum punishment for them.

The defense presented Alok's and Mrs. Pathak's alibis and phone records. They also presented Mr. Gupta, who testified that he knew Alok and Mrs. Pathak well and that they were innocent. He also presented the proof of Mr. Sahni's involvement and his criminal background. He exposed Mitanjali's mental illness and her previous suicide attempts. He also exposed the lies and the manipulation in Mitanjali's suicide note. He asked for the acquittal of Alok and Mrs. Pathak.

The judge heard both sides and examined the evidence. He found Alok and Mrs. Pathak not guilty and ordered their release. He also ordered the police to arrest Mr. Sahni and to investigate his role in Mitanjali's suicide. He also expressed his sympathy for Mitanjali and her family and said that she needed help. The judge said: We often take situations like these too lightly, thinking that depression is nothing. And my request to all women: please do not end your life due to love. There is more to life than just love or marriage. You all are educated and sensible folks.Recently, there was a case in which a girl doctor took her own life because she couldn't meet dowry demands. Even though she fulfilled them, the groom's family got greedier and asked for more, which her family couldn't provide.

Alok politely requested to speak something in the witness stand, the judge gave him the permission to speak.

Alok: First of all, thank you Your Honor and Mr. Gupta for believing in me and Mrs. Pathak. Mai ek choti si kahani sunana chahunga yeh jo abhi tak mere saah hua hai ussi ke baare me: sabse pehle toh bhaiya khud pe vishwas karna and yeh jo hamara kanooni siddhant hai ki Innocent until proven guilty;isse maine khudko shakti di ki yaar itna sab jhelna pad raha hai toh umeed bhi rakhte hai ki jald hi sacchai bhi bahar nikal aayegi. Mere khud ke ma baap ka mujhse vishwaas tut chuka tha ,mai jab unhe call karne ki koshish karta tha toh mera call hi cut kardete the

Lekin iske kaaran mai jis mental torture ke through gaya hoon vo koi nahi samajh payega. Ussi daruan kisi pagal ne yeh afwaah feladi ki mera aur Mrs. Pathak ka affair chal raha hai. By god,mai keh raha hoon uss vaqt jo hi dimaag kharab hua tha, aisa lag raha tha heart attack aajayega. Kuch dinon baad, hum sab gather hue the ek saath ,mere ek dost ne Mrs. Pathak ke baare me aisa kuch bola, mann kar raha tha ki saale ka muh tod dun, itni ghinoni soch kiski ho sakti hai. Usko itne thappad maare ki vo uss din ke baad me mila hi nahi. Phir toh mai aur Mrs. Pathak university se bhi suspend ho gaye the. Mere teachers ko mujhpe vishwaas hi nahi tha, only Mr. Gupta believed us. Aise university me kyun padhne ka mann karega ab mera. Mai letter of withdrawal fill karke kal jama kardunga administration office me. Thank you, judge saab. Pranam!

Judge: Alok, take your time with decisions. I will make sure everyone treats you better, especially regarding your concerns about teachers. I am also issuing a police protection order for you and Mrs. Pathak's safety.

Alok and Mrs. Pathak were relieved and grateful. They hugged Mr. Gupta and thanked him for saving them. They also apologized to Mitanjali's family and said that they wished they could have helped her. They also faced the media and the public and asked for their forgiveness and understanding. They said that they were victims of a conspiracy and that they had no ill will towards anyone.

The students and the faculty felt ashamed of themselves. They realized that they had been wrong and that they had judged Alok and Mrs. Pathak unfairly. They also realized that they had ignored Mitanjali's problems and that they had failed to support her. They felt guilty and sorry. They apologized to Alok and Mrs. Pathak and asked for their forgiveness. They also paid tribute to Mitanjali and prayed for her soul. However, few of the faculty members still didn't believe Alok.

Alok and Mrs. Pathak forgave them and accepted their apologies. They also decided to move on with their lives and to pursue their dreams. Alok resumed his film project and hoped to make a name for himself in the industry. Mrs. Pathak resumed her teaching and hoped to inspire her students. Mrs. Pathak decided to unblock Alok on all her social media handles as she felt it was quite stupid.

However, their ordeal was not over yet.

A few days were left before Alok had to go for the film's shoot so his friends decided to gather and say sorry to Alok for suspecting him.

They all gathered in the garden, sat on the benches and started saying sorry to Alok.

Alok says: Abey nahi yaar galti tum log ki thodi nahi hai uss vaqt case ka status hi kuch aisa tha, saala sab evidence hamare khilaaf tha aur ma ki aankh upar se pata nahi kis bewakoof ne afwaah feladi affair ke baare me jiske kaaran aur shakh badh gaya. Meri kismat hi kharab hai ,khud ko gaali de raha tha uss vaqt ki mai kitna bada chutiya hoon, usse shaanti se samjha deta toh yeh sab nahi hota. Aur tum log ko mazak sujh raha tha ki usko mujhpe crush hai aur usne ussi ke kaaran khudkushi Karli

Ram: Bhai mazak kar rahe the hum log ,hume kya pata tha vo itna seriously le legi aur vaise isme galti hamari kahan hai, kyun sabke saamne apna gussa uspe nikala

Alok: Choddo yaar… Pehle hi jitna din yeh case chala uske chakkar me poore dimaag ki ma bhen ho rakhi hai aur nahi jhel sakta yeh bakwas

Vivek: Haan, chal iss baar hum tujhe naashta khilayenge, garma garam vada pav ke saath chai piyenge

Ayush: Samosa khate hai vadapav kyun?

Vivek: Haan chalo tum samosa kha lena…

They all eat together and go to their home.

At the same night… Mr. Sahni had escaped from the police and had sworn to take revenge on them. He had tracked them down and had kidnapped them. He had taken them to a deserted warehouse and had tied them up. He had a gun and a knife with him. He told them that he blamed them for Mitanjali's death and that he would make them pay. He told them his story and how he and his daughter had suffered because of his wife. He said that he hated his wife and felt like killing her.

He said to Alok: Abhi dekhna ,kaise hum tumhari madam ki ijjat utarte hai aur agar zyada chalu banne ki koshish ki na toh yahin goonj ke rakh denge…

Alok: Aye aye, rukjaa vahinpe. Tum bachoge nahi, saale psycho

Mr. Sahni: Accha, kya karloge? Humko rokne ki koshish karoge, hein? Batao, bhai. Tumhare aankhon ke saamne tumhari madam ka rape karenge madarjaat! Phir tum dono ko aaram se kaat ke phek dunga…

He turned to Mrs. Pathak and said he make her feel the pain that Mitanjali felt though she wasn't raped. He tore her clothes and forced himself on her. She screamed and cried and begged him to stop. Alok could not bear to see her being violated. He tried to free himself and to stop him. He managed to untie himself and grabbed a stick. He hit Mr. Sahni on the head and knocked him down. He then untied Mrs. Pathak and tried to comfort her. He told her that they would escape and that they would be safe.

However, Mr. Sahni was not dead. He had a gun hidden in his pocket. He took it out and shot Alok in the chest. Alok fell to the ground and blood gushed out of his wound. He looked at Mrs. Pathak and smiled. He told her that he was sorry for everything that happened because of him. He then closed his eyes and died.

Mrs. Pathak was shocked and devastated. She held Alok's body and cried. She told him that he was a hero and felt like she was blessed to have a student like Alok. She then heard sirens and saw lights. The police had arrived and had surrounded the warehouse. The police had tracked Mr. Sahni. They had also found his car and his phone, which had traces of Alok's and Mrs. Pathak's locations.

They stormed into the warehouse and found Mr. Sahni lying on the floor. He had lost a lot of blood and was barely alive. He looked at them and laughed. He said that he had killed them and that he had avenged Mitanjali. He then coughed and died.

They then found Mrs. Pathak holding Alok's body. She was in shock and grief. She looked at them and pleaded with them to save him. She said that he was innocent and that he had saved her. She then fainted and collapsed.

They rushed to her and checked her pulse. She was alive but in critical condition. They called for an ambulance and took her to the hospital. They also took Alok's and Mr. Sahni's bodies and sent them for postmortem.

Mrs. Prasad was rescued on time and wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Alok. Mrs. Prasad couldn't help herself but she constantly cried and the other professors also got quite emotional as they were still doubting Alok for being behind the suicide and didn't believe the decisions taken by the judge.

Mr. Gupta asked one of the professors: Hey,the court had issued a police protection order na?

Mr. Singh: How does it matter now? I had never expected that something like this would happen… Alok didn't deserve this yaar, he got himself killed as he tried to save Mrs. Pathak. Aur mai uss bechare pe ab tak shakh kar raha tha…

Mr. Gupta keeps hands on Mr. Singh's shoulder and says: Sabse pehle yeh jaan lijiye ki aapki koi galti nahi hai toh apne aap ko doshi manna band kijiye… And it does matter because it indicates that police have neglected their duty even though the court had issued a police protection order for them. Warehouse bhi agar late nahi pahunchte toh na hi rape hota aur na hi Alok ka murder. Aur zara dekho toh sahi hum logon ki bhi personal life hai lekin hum yahan hospital me betha hai police ki laparvahi ke baare me gyaan pel rahe hai

The police officers walked in and Mr. Gupta couldn't control his anger. He accused them of not doing their job properly and slapped the officer-in charge.

People in the hospital witnessed the situation and, began punching and kicking the police officers for neglecting their duty. Police officers were slammed against the wall.

Individual shouting: Maaro saalon ko,ek ko bhi zinda mat choddna.

A few individuals grabbed nearby objects to express their anger. Police officers were being forcefully slammed and being pushed to the water filters resulting in the filters breaking and water splashing upon the floor. Trash cans were knocked over, and chairs were tossed.

As people hit the police, it resulted in blood coming out from their mouths…

Hospital security rushed back to control the situation and Mr. Gupta decided to step back as he saw the public outrage.

The clash between the public and police officers exposed the police's failures.

It became an instant headline for the local media. News crews rushed to report on the incident and broadcasted it all over the country.

After the incident hit the headlines,an discussion started at a local tea stall.

Arav: Bechari ki life kharab hojayegi abhi, sab usko alag nazar se dekhenge abhi.

Lara: Bewakoofon ki kami thodi na hai hamare desh me. Bas peeth peeche batiyane hi aate hai inhe.

Arav: Well, you know how people are. Just one incident and it ruins you whole life. More of because people will judge you based on your past. Likh ke lelo she will not even get a job now,har jagah se rejection face karegi vo.

Lara: Sach me yaar. I feel bad for her.  I mean it's high time our society should understand cases like this. The victim is also a human being like all of us. Just like us, he too has family and friends. Sab saale rapists ke kaaran...

Arav interrupts and says: Inhi haramiyon ke karan toh hum log ka naam kharab hota hai. Aakhir aam aadmi kare toh kare kya? Hamare desh me koi strict kanoon bhi toh nahi hai.

Lara: You know, I feel like if Mr. Singh was alive ,he would have got bail and Mrs. Pathak would have been framed. The laws aren't just made to protect men's rights.

Arav: Well, you have got a point there.

Lara: Chodd ab, office chalte hai,hum baat karke kya hi ukhaad lenge.

Arav: Haan,chalo.

After Mrs. Pathak recovered, she decided to resign from the university and to never teach again. She went back to her hometown to live with her parents and start a new life.

A few days passed after Mrs. Pathak came in her hometown at her parents' house.

In Mrs. Pathak's room, her father knocked at the door and entered slowly with a gentle request: May I talk with you?

Mrs. Pathak: Agar shaadi ki baat na karni ho toh hi aaiyega varna pehle hi keh deti hoon. Vaise bhi in future, I may become one's wife but my husband won't understand what does it mean.

Mrs. Pathak's father interrupts and says: Arey, pehle baat toh suno

Mrs. Pathak: Boliye, kya baat karni hai aapko?

Mrs. Pathak's father closes the door of her room and sits on her bed and says: Tumhara sacchi me rape hua tha?

Mrs. Pathak: What do you mean, dad?

Mrs. Pathak's father: Beta, I know how the patients' condition is after they have been either raped or tortured. Maximum of the girls who get molested don't survive, almost 90% don't survive.

Mrs. Pathak: Point pe aaiye

Mrs. Pathak's father: Sach batao mujhe, kya hua tha uss raat

Mrs. Pathak: Aapko mujhpe yakeen nahi hai?

Mrs. Pathak's father: Aisi baat nahi hai par yeh baat hajam nahi ho pa rahi hai ki tumhara rape hua tha. Ek kisi ladki pe jab koi zabardasti karta hai aur uske baad agar vo survive karpati hai badi mushkil zindagi hoti hai uski. Pagal hojate hai, unke kareeb koi kitna bhi kyun na aajaye chahe vo family member hi kyun na ho,unhe darr lagta hai.

Mrs. Pathak: Dad,for your kind information. I have gone through a lot after that incident, jab mai acche se heal hui tab mai aap log ke paas rehne aayi and please I am not comfortable right now.

Mrs. Pathak's father: Aur tum jo kahogi mai uska yakeen karlun?

Mrs. Pathak: Okay, please. I don't have time for this, I am already very disturbed so please get out of my room.

Mrs. Pathak's father: ab apne baap se baat karne ki tameez bhi bhul chuki ho tum

Mrs. Pathak: Aur kya janna hai aapko? Jo newspaper me padha, televisión pe dekha vahi sach hai.

Mrs. Pathak's father: Oh dear, enough with the lies. Bahut sun lia!

Mrs. Pathak: Accha, theek hai. Sunna hai na aapko? Suna deti hoon, mera koi rape-vape nahi hua tha.

Mrs. Pathak's father: Kya? Kya kaha tumne?

Mrs. Pathak: Yes,yes it's the damn truth.

Mrs. Pathak's father: Dimaag kharab ho gaya hai tumhara, kya keh rahi ho

Mrs. Pathak: Kyunki aapko poori kahani hi nahi pata hai, itna sab sune ho toh ab uss raat warehouse me kya hua tha vo bhi suno

Flashback of the night in the warehouse where the incident occurred…

Mr. Sahni: Abhi dekho Alok kaise hum tumhari madam ke maje lete hai

Mr. Sahni goes towards Mrs. Pathak and says: Directly shuru kare ya fir kiss karogi?

As Mr. Sahni gets closer towards Mrs. Pathak, her hands and legs tied with rope she tries to avoid his face and tries to shift her face towards the back.

Mrs. Pathak wriggled and struggled, managing to loosen the ropes around her hands and legs.

Mrs. Pathak grabbed a nearby chair and slammed it onto Mr. Sahni's head. The impact caused the gun from his pocket to fall. She seized the gun with aim to kill Mr. Sahni However, in the chaos, she shot Alok by mistake. Mrs. Pathak got shocked and Mr. Sahni started to laugh and say: Ek goli bhi nahi maar sakti theek se? She regained her composure and, with a resolute determination, shot Mr. Sahni.

Mrs. Pathak rushed to untie Alok, saying sorry to him. However, Alok, aware of his limited time, managed a weak smile, saying: Chalo, ek stereotype toh khatam hua, he said, aapne prove kar dia iss aadmi ko khatam karke. Aurat har ek cheez acche se kar sakti hai. Every woman is capable of doing anything, they can excel in every field. Iss harami ko maar dalke apne apni bahaduri dikhadi!

Mrs. Pathak: Goli lagne ke chakkar me apna maansik santulan kho bethe ho kya, yeh stereotype wali baat kahan se aa gayi?

Alok, sensing the potential consequences, urged Mrs. Pathak to consider the harsh reality of the local police. Listen to me now, he said, if the police comes here, they will arrest you. Aapko pata hi hai yahan ki police kaisi hai. Let me die. Take that cloth over there, wipe it with the gun, and keep it in Mr. Sahni's hands. You won't have to go to jail. I have to die anyway.

Mrs. Pathak, however, firmly denied the suggestion, insisting: No, I will admit my mistake and take you to the hospital. You don't have to do this for me.

Alok, weak but, responded: Ma'am, suniye, aapko kuch nahi hoga, vaise bhi jab tak hospital pahuchunga tab tak meri maut hojayegi, mai jee nahi paunga utne time tak. Don't let my death go in vain,do as I say.

Alok took a deep breath and explained to Mrs. Pathak what she needed to do. He detailed the steps and suggested that if she followed his instructions, the police would find her in a state that left them with no other option but to believe her side of the story.

As the flashback concluded, Mrs. Pathak's father, visibly shocked, asked: Aur doctor ne check nahi kiya? Aise cases ke baad toh rape kit use hota hai na,semen test vagrah lia jata hai. Mrs. Pathak, with a sense of frustration, replied, "Doctor bik gaya."

Her father, perplexed, questioned, "Bik gaya? Kya matlab?" Mrs. Pathak, revealing the unfortunate reality, responded, "Bribe kia unhe.

Mrs. Pathak's father says: Tum meri beti ho, but phir bhi keh deta hoon, you are not going to get away with this. Police pakadlegi.

Mrs. Pathak says: chahke bhi nahi pakadpayegi ,koi naya thulla aayega toh bhi nahi kyunki case officially close ho chuka hai and by not giving the police protection unhone apni aukaat dikha di hai.

Mrs. Pathak's father says: Thodi toh sharam karo uss Alok ne apni jaan dedi tumhe bachane ke lie

Mrs. Pathak: vo toh vaise hi marne wala tha, usne bas ek idea dia jisse mai bach sakun…

Mrs. Pathak's father gets angry and shouts: Arey pagla gayi ho kya?

As Mrs. Pathak's father voice raised, it drew attention, the people outside walking became curious. One passerby remarked, Cheekhne ki awaz kyun aa rahi hai? Another, with a mischievous tone, added, Kaise cheekhne ki awaz hmm. The third person said, Abey chillane ki awaz aa rahi hai, daat pad rahi hai. To this, a sarcastic comment followed, Usme kaunsi nayi baat hai, shaadi ke lie mana kardia hoga. Arey ek kaam karte hai maja aayega aye tu ek paper aur pen de.

He takes pen and paper from the person and writes on the paper: Mujhse shaadi karogi, tumhara future husband?

Other people start laughing…

He then picks up a rock and folds the paper around the rock and throws it in through the window and then they all start to run away.

Mrs. Pathak and her father both get scared after watching the broken glass. Mrs. Pathak's father gets more furious now.

Mrs. Pathak, tries to maintain composure, calmly said, Shaant hojaiiye. Not knowingly to Mrs. Pathak and her father, with the door closed, her mother had been quietly listening to everything. Mrs. Pathak's mother couldn't control her tears, shedding silent tears in response to the unfolding situation.

As tension escalated, Mrs. Pathak's father suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest, signaling a heart attack. Panicking, she called for her mother, and together, they tried to help. Desperate, they dialed for an ambulance, but the local hospitals said—they had very few ambulances, and even when available, they denied to assist.

Time passed painfully as they waited for medical help. Unfortunately, after a while, Mrs. Pathak's father passed away.

After hearing everything and now after her husband died, Mrs. Pathak's mother got really upset. Filled with sadness and frustration, she blamed Mrs. Pathak for everything. In her sorrow, she gave her daughter a hard slap, the slap was so tight that it caused blood to start coming out from Mrs. Pathak's lips. The slap expressed the pain of losing her husband and blaming again Mrs. Pathak for the trouble caused in the family.

Mrs. Pathak's mother realising the weight of her actions, took a deep breath and then gave a tight hug to Mrs. Pathak.

After a few days, in the sad ceremony, Mrs. Pathak's family lit the funeral pyre, saying their last goodbyes as her father's body gently turned to ashes. It was a quiet moment of farewell, marking the end of his journey and bringing a mix of sadness and acceptance for the family. Amidst the sadness, Mrs. Pathak's mother, her voice filled with both grief and understanding, says: I won't force you to marry anymore.

However, Mrs. Pathak, overwhelmed with anger, felt the urge to lash out at her. In her mind, she contemplated cussing at her mother, feeling frustrated that at a time when her father had just been cremated, her mother's concern seemed to revolve around marriage. Suppressing her anger, Mrs. Pathak took a deep breath to calm herself. Instead of expressing her angry emotions, she simply replied with a hmm.

Mrs. Pathak's mother after giving a soft kiss on Mrs. Pathak's forehead: let's hope for the better.

At Safelife hospital, in the eerie silence of the mortuary, the fluorescent lights flickered overhead. Mr. and Mrs. Prasad (parents of Alok), their faces filled with grief, stood by the entrance, and asked for the body of Alok.

The nurse, a compassionate but weary figure, guided them through the sterile corridors to the designated area where the deceased were kept. As they approached the cold storage units, Alok's mother started crying.

"I'll be right back with Alok's body," the nurse assured them, her voice filled with empathy. With a slight nod, she disappeared into the dimly lit chamber.

Time seemed to stretch infinitely as Mr. and Mrs. Prasad waited anxiously. The hum of refrigeration units provided a disconcerting soundtrack to their grief. Minutes passed like hours until, finally, the nurse returned, her face pale and perplexed.

I... I don't understand. Alok's body should have been right here, the nurse stammered, her eyes revolving around the empty stainless-steel compartments.

A sense of disbelief washed over Alok's parents. Mrs. Prasad's trembling voice broke the silence, what do you mean? Kahan hai hamara beta?

The nurse, now visibly distressed, assured them that she would investigate the matter immediately. Panic set in as the three of them searched the mortuary together, checking each compartment. But Alok's body was nowhere to be found.

The hospital staff initiated a search, reviewing security footage and questioning personnel.

At the hospital's security room, where grainy footage shows a shadowy figure entering the mortuary just before the nurse's return. The figure moves with purpose, lifting the latch on one of the storage units and silently wheeling it away.

Back in the mortuary, the nurse, Mr. and Mrs. Prasad, now joined by hospital security, pieced together the puzzle. Alok's body had been taken, but by whom and for what purpose?

The hospital's security team managed to catch the mysterious figure responsible for Alok's disappearance. The figure with holding a urn containing Alok's ashes, now in custody, was brought before Mr. and Mrs. Prasad and the nurse.

As the figure, a middle-aged man, was interrogated, he hesitated before revealing the perplexing motive behind his actions. He said: I was thinking to kill Alok from a long time, but too sad he got killed by Mitanjali's father but I had to do something to take revenge so I had to burn him. My daughter's career was at stake," he confessed with a troubled expression.

Confusion rippled through the room, and Mr. Prasad demanded an explanation. Kya kehna chahte ho? Why would our son's death be linked to your daughter's career?

The man took a deep breath before unveiling a story that added layers of complexity to the unfolding mystery. "When Alok got a film project, everyone in the classroom praised him. Teachers were proud, and they even had dinner with him. My daughter, however, wasn't happy. She felt overshadowed and thought Alok wouldn't cast her in the film or offer her any opportunities in the film company.

The story unfolded as the man continued, revealing that the nurse had called the police for a missing body. Coincidentally, a new SP had taken charge in the district due to the suspension of the previous police officers for negligence.

The SP, with a mix of confusion and weak attempts at humor; intervened, "Body missing, where it go?Did it launch itself in the sky, was the dead body a bloody superhero? The man sighed and responded: Sir, you can arrest me as I believed taking revenge would clear the path for my daughter's success.

SP: Bhai, pehle vo tharki, teacher ka rape karta hai aur Alok ko goli maar deta hai kyunki uski beti ne suicide karlia tha aur ab tum Alok ke body ko jalate ho badla lene ke lie. Tum log ke pagalpann ke chakkar me mere hi dimaag ki dahi hojayega. Tumhara dimaag ghutnon me hai kya? Competition toh future me aur face karna padega agar employer tumhari beti ko hire karne se mana kardega toh kya usse bhi maar daloge, bewakoof kahinke! Mai bhi ek baap hoon par sahi aur galat ka farq janta hoon, zaruri nahi hai ki har baar mai uski madat karunga kuch cheezen bacchon ko khud se bhi seekhni padti hai

In a fit of rage, Mr. Prasad began slapping and punching the man, the blows driven by a father's anguish and a sense of violation. The room descended into chaos, with the nurse and the SP rushing to intervene and stop Mr. Prasad.

Enough! shouted the nurse, desperately trying to pull Mr. Prasad away. The SP, with the help of other hospital staff, managed to separate the enraged father from the figure.

Mr. Prasad: You bloody bastard!! Have you lost your mind? You just did all that to protect your daughter's career?

Mysterious figure: Haan kyunki mereko apni beti ki future ki chinta hai, tere jaisa nahi hoon…

Mr. Prasad getting more furious: Tumhari aisi ki taisi, kya bola saale, bhadve? Aukaat me rehke baat kar. Mujhe kyun pakad rahe ho tum log… iss kamine ko karo arrest!

SP: Bas ho gaya ab agar kisine mujhe apne duty ko karne se roka toh mai uske saath sakti se pesh aaunga

The SP managed to calm down Mr. Prasad and instructed his officers to detain the mysterious figure.

SP: You are under arrest for causing public distress, misleading the authorities and for stealing a dead body. It's a bloody crime. And your daughter also must have done something that made her believe he wouldn't let her join the film company. We will interrogate her as well; she must also have some involvement. Akele toh nahi kar paye hoge itna sab.

At Police station, the man was taken into a cell and then the constables started stripping him naked and made him lay on a table. They tied his hands and legs with rope, hitting him with sticks and a belt until he was left black and blue.

A constable standing outside the cell lights up a cigarette and starts talking with the constable beside him:

Matter ko jaise handle kia ja raha hai ,vo dekhke lagta nahi hai ki SP saab tolerate karenge bakchodi , abhi peet rahe hai isse phir baadme paani ke jagah moot pilayenge , bahut bhayanak torture hoga…

2nd Constable: Hum kaahe tension le bhai, dekhne ka anand uthate hai, aise pal baar baar nahi aate…

On the other side… The SP, recognizing the potential media attention surrounding the arrest and the unusual circumstances of the case, decided to address the press. He called up for a press conference, he stood before bunch of reporters, their cameras flashing and microphones poised.

The SP said: The man believed that his daughter's career would touch stars in the sky, if Alok wasn't in her path. Even after Alok's death, he thirsted for revenge, pushing him to steal the body from the mortuary and attempt to burn it.

The SP's words resonated with the gathered media, painting a picture of a father's distorted sense of protection for his daughter and the drastic measures taken by him.
