Not all the tales of monsoons was alluring and the same had become true for Ramu's family.

Ramu and his family lived in a village. Ramu owns a cow and sell the cow's milk to meet his family expenditure. With wooden logs Ramu built a cowshed in the backyard of his house.

Everyday around 6am in the morning, Ramu milk the cow and sell the milk to the village people. Ramu and his wife worked hard and took care of their cow very well. And their hard work rewarded them decent earnings to meet their daily needs.

In Monsoon 1990 August, Ramu's cow gave birth to the female calf. Ramu and his family were excited and extremely happy with their growing cattle yields. But their happiness didn't last for long. Within few days in one morning, where the rainfall was heavy Ramu entered the cowshed and devasted to see his cow lying dead on the floor. He leaned against the wooden log wall and draws a deep breath, resisting an urge to cry. He observed the log from the roof loosened and fell on the cow's neck bone and the cow stopped breathing immediately. Ramu felt broken, all he had to meet his monthly expenditure was the money from the cow's milk he sells every day.

Losing his cow, Ramu felt like losing his best friend/ family members. Motherly instinct in Ramu's wife made her to mourn more for the baby calf.

Hearing the news, the village people gathered around the cow shed. They consoled Ramu and some helped him with money.

Later Ramu and his wife worked for daily wages, purchased few cows and built a concrete shed for their cattle and continued selling the cow's milk.
