The Magical Lemon Seed

On the last day of school before vacation, Alisha and Joseph’s teacher had given them an assignment to find out how seeds germinate and write their observations in a notebook over the summer vacation.

They didn’t know how to perform the assignment and would flunk it but, on the way home, in their backyard, they saw a few lemon seeds on the ground, but both of them were sluggish and did not want to pick them up.

They tried to figure out how plants germinate, but they couldn’t think of anything, they went to the backyard to clear out their mind, when Alisha saw, the lemon seeds, growing into a sapling.

She called Joseph, and they both admired it and stared at it for a long time. They thought that their sluggishness had finally resulted in something good.

Over the next few days, they saw the seed growing into a plant as they took care of it and supplied it with water. They penned their observations in a book.

Soon, the plant had grown into a tree and was developing lemons on it, both Alisha and Joseph were very pleased.

On the final day of vacation, they picked some lemons from the tree to show to their class.

The next day when they came to school, they told their story to the teacher and their classmates. Everyone was astonished and took a lemon home. They even got an A on their assignment.
