The Musician Who Loved Streets

It was a bright cold day in January & as usual streets were filled with vendors,hooting of vehicles , crowd of pedestrians , children going school, small once were accompanied by parents & teenagers were either in groups or alone .

Some are trying to cross the roads , while some are walking on pavements . In all hustle & bustle , a man would appear daily in tattered & torn old clothes with a pair of boots pathced several times with a guitar on his back.

He would choose a spot for the day & after that he will pull a cloth from his pocket & spread it down on pavement , then he will put a cardboard scribbled with words near that cloth & finally pull out his antique guitar.

He will set his finger on cords & after clearing his throat , he will start singing songs .The songs are either made up by him or the original tracks by other famous singers .

He would passionately do his work , without disturbing anyone, till this buisy street become quiet. 

For a break, he would cross the street & try different locations . Sometimes people will gather to listen his magnetic & charming voice ,that day would be a lottery for him .

Someday people will grant him coins out of pity or someday's they would throw coins at him in mockery .

He would also spend some funny days with childrens who would ran to him ,after school & will dance on the beats of his music ,till their angry mothers would take them away squeezing their ears .

Sometimes people will see him dancing & singing around famous buildings ,or church or outside the museum.

He was a merry go lucky kind of man,he would never fight with anyone despite of being scolded or made fun of. He would give them a gentle smile & change his location .

Someone once asked him, how did he landed here ? , He told them that he use to belong to rich, high-class family ,where he have everything ,he could desire of , his parents educated him well ,but something was missing in his life , his heart would feel empty ,so he tried different things & ended up learning music .

Time passed by & the hobby changed to his passion ,he would perform in friend's birthday, at school or some festival & the best part was people started loving him .

He will spend most of the day practicing his vocals & beats , soon it became eyesore in his parents eyes ,as they thought that it's a waste of time & he should focus on studues .

They started scolding him , but he didn't responded well ,so they threw away all his music stuff .

He was now forced to join a college for higher studies , however when he will try to study , the musical notes will dance around his eyes. It was becoming unbarable fir him.

He couldn't concentrate, he would end up writing lyrics in his paper .Thus,he flunked in two subjects.

Teachers started scolding him, some would even council him ,no matter what they did ,his scores decreased to a very low level .

He stopped talking with anyone ,he would spend his time near a window ,looking outside & wondering about music.

His friends were tensed seeing him like this , so they started encouraging him for writing songs to cheer him up . They would suggest him to talk to his parents ,but he already knew the response .

Finally when he realised he couldn't take it anymore, he packed his things & took his savings , then left a note for his parents & ran away from home at midnight.

With the money he rented a room in another city & buyed a guitar , he would get ready early & will head to auditions.They would ask for money instead & being unable to pay them , they would throw him out. 

He even collected money by part - time jobs & gave it to the agencies , they took the money & made fake promises , ending up being trapped , he stopped attending auditions.

He begin looking for ideas to showcase his music , one - day at evening he saw a man playing drums on road .

He liked the idea ,next day he searched all the buisy roads & started performing there .

Life was hard this way , he could barely manage to save money for eating , still he started enjoying it more & more .

From that day he never looked back at his home , His heart was filled with happiness & satisfaction.

Soon his misfortunes started turning ,when a girl fell in love with his songs , she would daily look for him & spend hours listening to him & even pay him hefty amount of money in return.

She started recommending him to her friends & even would invite him to perform at occasions .

Money was slowly following him & finally after six months of struggle ,he could earn enough to consume proper meals & buy decent clothes.

Still it didn't change anything ,he would perform everyday on streets or in buisy areas, he loved doing it , he even started portraying common people problems in his songs . People started admiring & loving him more, it was mainly due to the girl, she started spreading his songs , wherever she would visit.

ON weekends she would accompany him ,by dancing on his songs & sometimes she would even share her lunch with him . 

Fate of love was binding them together , without their realisation, they are slowly falling for each other .

Soon the girl's father noticed some changes in her behaviour ,first he ignored it , yet after few days, he find something fishy .

So ,he followed her one day & after judging the situation , he realised what's going on .

He was little upset to see his princess had fallen head over heels in love with a random street musician.

He thought to handle the situation on his own, however the bright smile on her daughter's face made him stop.

Her daughter's long lost smile, which was disappeared after her mother's sudden demise was back & how could he snatch that from her .

So, he decided to take a little test of the man to check , whether he is worthy of his daughter or not .

He called musician to his office , musician was a humble & polite person, without even thinking about intentions of being called , he showed himself to his office .

He asked musician several questions & musician answered each of them with his heart . 

The father was amazed by his words , although he asked him last question to check his honesty , " stop playing on streets & come join me in my buiseness , then i would lend my daughter's hand in yours."

Within few seconds musician replied back ,this luxury don't cherish me, i had a great taste of it in my life & i understood "the more you have, the more you desire."

I am very satisfied with what i have sir, thus i don't require any of your fame or money .

Sorry for being impolite & rejecting your offer sir, but i am really content with my small life .

He took a pause & then uttered again, i know sir, you must be dead worried about your daughter's life .

So decide whatever you think best for her & i will gladly accept the offer .

After saying musician was walking to the door ,when the man spoke from behind " wont you show me your singing".

Musician moved back & pulled his guitar & played the song he has written for her daughter .

The song was melodic & the heart touching lyrics were complementing it's beauty .

Father was shedding tears listening to the song & realised what a gem his daughter has found .

You are only worthy for my daughter , he said patting musician 's back .

After few weeks , their marriage was arranged in same street. He called all the local people & kids of the area & few of his friends.

They came & showered their blessings on the couple .

They supported each - other in all up's & down's.

Soon after few months , he gained popularity & was hired for big concerts or big occasions. Yet being successful, he didn't stopped playing on streets & if someone would ask him, he would politely answer " how can i leave the place who gave me everything".

After his popularity his parents found him & apologized for the past.

He forgave them , thus they all started living together .

In the end he gained everything ,money fame ,love & family .

It was all possible with his hardwork & with support of her loving wife..
