I was a sick child & was suffering from serious illness, due to which I spent most of my childhood on a hospital bed with lots of machines.

After a certain time, I felt useless & thus stopped taking pills & avoided treatments, my condition was getting worse day by day, my parents were heartbroken seeing me like this & started pampering me to take medicines back but it was all in vain.

My mind was empty & my happiness was lost somewhere, I was hardly surviving.

I was a small child after all who wants to run & play with kids of my age, yet it was all a dream for me, as I could barely walk with the support.

This illness is eating me from inside, I was becoming more pale & fragile, my mother's eyes were puffy & red with tears, every time she saw me.

She would beg me to take medication, yet at that point, her words seem meaningless to me, my brain stopped responding ultimately leading to a coma.

I was lying on bed lifeless unable to respond, when one day I heard some words, slowly my brain started reacting to them, it was hard to figure words in the beginning, but as time passed I was able to hear them clearly. Words were soon converted to stories & to long chatter eventually.

Soon my heart started responding to her words, she would even sing sometimes or play games with me.

My mind was steadily becoming active & my consciousness was slowly returning back & finally after few days I was back from a coma.

My parents were overjoyed seeing me & showered their love for me. Still, my eyes were searching for the girl. Unable to speak properly, I was not able to ask anyone about the girl.

Thus started waiting for her, I was now filled with determination to get better to find her.

Soon I was able to move my limbs & started walking little when one afternoon I was strolling in the hallway with the help of a stick when my gaze landed on a girl sitting in a wheelchair.

She was talking to an empty wall, I felt strange seeing her like this, but somehow the girl felt familiar to me.

I slowly walked towards her & sat behind on bench to listen to her words & as soon as I heard her my heart started thudding.

I felt lucky listening to her melodic voice again, I was lost in her words when a nurse came & took the girl with her, I want to call her out, yet I was unable to utter a word.

I stared at her till she disappeared into the next corridor, my heartfelt elated & my body was filled with joy.

I was recovering very fast & started taking my pills properly, my doctors were happy seeing my progress.

The same place which sensed dull to me the past few years was now filled with numerous shiny stars.

I would not leave a single opportunity to see her, yet somehow I was not able to talk with her.

I kept trying until one day, she noticed me & with a twinkly smile came near me, I was spellbound with her beauty, my heart was beating like a hammer.

I felt speechless & tears started forming in my eyes, I scoot down to her level & gave her a tight hug.

The people around me were astonished & some of them started gossiping, but I didn't give them a glance, as I was lost in her.

We separated shortly, I hold her hands & with a shaky voice uttered, will you be my friend?

Within few seconds she exclaimed back, umm would you listen to my stories then!

I nodded my head in response & then she too nodded back at me.

I felt on cloud nine, my whole body felt excited.

Some people around us were hooting at the moment & some were scolding us, but who cared, what they think!

I took her wheelchair & we both walked outside to a silent corner, we chatted till our nurses separated us.

We would sneak in at night in each other's room & would talk until late at night, we started spending most of our time together, until one unfortunate day we were parted, as I was discharged from the hospital.

My parents completed formalities & took me to our home. However we didn't let hope down, I started visiting her in hospital.

Since my home was a little far from the hospital, it was becoming hard for me to visit her, so I borrowed some money from my parents & bought two phones.

I gave one to her & we both continued our little chats on it, it went like that for two years & we were madly in love with each- other.

Soon my parents arranged teachers for me & I became busy as hell, with all the stuff, our long conversations were converting to short texts.

After learning the courses, I joined my father's business which bound me with a ton of workload.

It was getting harder to text her & soon few weeks passed without listening to her voice, I finally called her one afternoon, but she didn't pick, I sent hordes of messages, still, she didn't respond.

I waited for her reply, but no response came, soon few days changed to two months, I felt anxious & scolded myself for not visiting her.

So the next day I drove to the hospital & enquired about her, the first the staff didn't tell me anything, somehow a doctor recognized me & took me to her ward.

I asked the doctor about her condition & his reply broke my heart, he told me that she is in the last stage of brain cancer & that she only had few months left.

I was shocked & with a heavy heart, I looked her through a glass door, her small frail body was pierced with several drips & tubes.

My heartfelt tight & I fell on my knees, then burst out in tears, when the doctor patted my back & lead me to his office.

I begged him to save her, but he told me that it was difficult as she needs quick surgery from a US surgeon & thus due to a shortage of funds in the hospital, it was unaffordable.

I quickly transferred all my money in a bank account to hospital funds & requested him to proceed with further surgery.

After few weeks surgery was scheduled, so I went back home collected my belongings & rented a room near the hospital. I started visiting her on daily basis, I would feed her food sometimes or would take her to walk.

My parents were calling me back home & would scold me for wasting time & money. I would politely reply to them back," as to how could I leave her, when she needed me most ."

Soon they stopped bickering me & started helping me, as I was their precious son.

Due to my father's help, I was able to convince the specialized doctor to look over her case.

Eventually, the day of surgery came & thanks to almighty grace, it was successful.

I was overjoyed with happiness, I thanked doctors as well as staff for their cooperation.

However after few days, some complications appeared & the doctor told me that they have done everything to save her life, yet somehow patient is not responding well. He even told me to prepare myself for an upcoming event.

Instead of feeling sad, my mind was stronger than before & I felt enormous hope in me. It seems as God is showing me the way to save her.

I collected as many storybooks as I could & started telling her stories & would chatter with her for long hours.

Nurses are too showing their support & would also cheer her with me.

Days started converting to weeks, yet there was no improvement in her. Even doctors have given up now !!

My parents too consoled me, but I was not ready to give up, I continued telling her stories & even started praying for her health.

Finally, a miracle happened, her body started responding to treatments & after few months she started recovering.

Soon she was discharged, I was preparing myself for that moment for a long time & as our eyes met, I scooted down at her level & proposed to her with a bouquet & a ring.

She was in tears & we both cried in each other's comfort, then she slowly moved apart & in her wobbly voice whispered 'yes '. Her words made my heart flutter & I felt like I was over the moon that time.

All members present at the scenario prayed for us & with tears in their eyes, they handed her wheelchair to me.

After completing all formalities, doctor & other congratulated us & thus I took her to our new home opposite to hospital, which I had bought recently.

After a year we got engaged & soon got married, my parents also joined in our ceremony & showered their blessings on us.

After few years, with the help of my father me & my wife started an organization to help people going through illness.

Later I adopted an orphanage & gifted it to her, as due to her illness, it was risky for her to get pregnant.

She was overwhelmed with surprise & took them all into her care ......

Thus i was blessed with bunch of munchkins & a loving wife .
