Confined Within

Every time life throws sadness my way,

I take a brick and place it in front of me.

Brick by brick I gathered and built a wall

That confines me and protects me within.

Isolated, I like to keep myself

In my own space created by me,

I am not strong enough to break the wall

For so long I have been inside it.

I am blind to see the world around me,

I only hear and feel,

I scream and submerge in my sadness

I still am the same, I haven't healed.

The wall I created,

Becomes stronger with time

The darkness does not scare me anymore

My life is little and I lay alone

The view is blocked by the wall I created

I can only hear and can only feel

I am present like a wall of a fort

That remains broken and old

I hold tales, the reason being such,

I feel so dead that

The walls became my grave,

And I live no more.
