Oneness

Oneness

It's not that they were perfect in all respects

They had many differences in reading,

Food preferences, levels of intelligence.

In priorities in life, beliefs, and sentiments

So what held them together till death?

Questions often asked to assess

If they were bound by any obligations

If it was merely for sake of satiation

When two bodies are drawn like magnets

Seeking pleasures of the flesh

No...it wasn't love at first sight

No...it was not the glow of dowry light

No...it was not under any duress

It was the willingness to accept each other

With all perfections and imperfections

Result added to the bonding of two humans

God had ordained would one day meet,

Marry, raise children, live a life free of debts

Eventually, be rewarded for their sacrifices

For being frugal in life's early stages

And the world was under the impression

How would their marriage work come from different religions?

Who would perform their last rites, in the absence of their children

Who had fled? They solved the problem

Advising the hospital their bodies would donate

For medical research for students.

And they would see only the human anatomy,

Oblivious of their caste, creed, or religion.
