Eyes

I have looked deep into your eyes and I can see your soul.

Did you know that your eyes speak so much?

I have heard your eyes telling me how happy you are when you see me.

And I know that your happiness is merely in the seeing

I don’t have to do or say anything,

I know what your eyes tell me

They have told me about the mischief your mind is upto

The images of what you want to do are dancing in your eyes

They have spoken to me at length about how wonderful your dreams are

And I have fallen in love with your dreams because your eyes have asked me to

They have spoken to me about your fears

I have seen those dark clouds gather in your eyes

And I will fight bravely to clear them all

They have spoken to me about triumph

And I have cheered like that was my soul’s purpose

Your eyes spoke to me about your sadness

And when those tears flow from them,

I will hold them in my hands and gently wash them away

I have seen love, hate, anger, joy, mischief, sadness and every sentiment you’ve experienced.

I cannot promise to put in words everything I know,

But just know that your window opens into mine and together we’ll see the world
