The Elm Tree
The Elm Tree
I was once a flourishing elm tree,
As green as anything can be
But what killed me and my fellow trees,
Was nothing but the human's greed.
We were growing in the bright sun,
There humans came with a big gun,
We elm trees happily thought,
Water for us they have brought.
But alas, how wrong we were,
The water killed us then and there.
Now we've been standing here like a skeleton,
And the humans have been doing what they've always done.
You are human beings, right?
So spread awareness about our plight
Keep your greed aside and help us,
Because we work for you from dawn to dusk.
We give you food, we give you rain,
And if you plant us, Earth will be green again.
Remember, you should have planted us as much as you could,
So now the Earth would work as it should.
So you will plant trees now, and you should always do it,
Because if you will not do it now, you will have no oxygen to breathe!
