An Elegy

In the depths of darkness, hate does dwell,

A poison that consumes and destroys as well,

It tears apart the fabric of society and peace,

Leaving behind nothing but pain and disease.

Hate breeds violence, fear, and division,

It thrives on anger and narrow-minded vision,

Blinding us to the beauty of diversity and love,

And pushing us further away from the heavens above.

Oh, how we mourn for the loss of innocence,

For the lives that were taken in its wake,

For the families left broken and defenseless,

And the wounds that we can never seem to shake.

But let us not be defeated by hate's cruel power,

For we have within us the strength to flower,

To rise above the darkness and embrace the light,

And to build a world that is just and bright.

Let us come together, hand in hand,

And spread love and kindness across the land,

For hate may try to tear us apart,

But it can never defeat a united heart.
