An Island Far Away

An Island Far Away

The everyday job,

The hustle and bustle of the crowds,

The barks of dogs,

And complaints about the fog,

Made him feel so small,

The same old dusty cabin,

Where not a single eye wanders,

The same old remarks,

About the foul weather

He goes on, for his fuel are the golden eyes of his wife and

daughters,

And to betray them, would be giving a pig for slaughter,

The occasional "hello" he gets from the nearby bar,

Lightens the soul, but still not enough to fulfill the heart,

He goes to the palace which he calls home,

So much grandeur, you'd be lost for evermore,

Smiles, hugs and kisses await him every second,

His duty is to protect them , but he doesn't feel completed,

What more does he want?

He has love ,money, grandeur ,what is it that makes him whole

If only you knew what goes through his inscrutable mind,

You'll understand the pleasures of a simple life,

The grandeur feels bland, there's a lot, too much too

understand,

He wants to go to a place of holy serenity,

A quite riverbank in the middle of nowhere,

The elegant roars of the streaming waters,

The clouds above that freely scatter,

The silent rustle of leaves and the capricious wind,

Makes him feel he can finally breathe,

The wind softly brushing through his hair,

Makes it feel like a mother's care,

The taste of fresh grass, makes a glass of wine feel third

class,

This one moment that makes him feel fully alive,

Not the grandeur, but the wild life

He hesitates, but says it anyways

An island far away.
