Bond Of Friendship

Recall hopping on a train, for a journey 

Of eight long hours – 

Six years ago, with two

Grown-up men sitting beside.

Didn’t even have a hint or a thought of;

They were brothers and musicians,

Returning home, 

To Rajkot.

A small gesture of offering peanuts,

During the journey and a simple ‘Hello!’ 

Turned into a long chat, 

Exchanging – 

Thoughts,

Gestures,

Knowledge,

Phone numbers,

And other loves and passions;

Till the wheels of iron, stopped.

The journey ended,

But it left us being great friends for life.

We do not remember faces,

But we know, we will be there for each other,

When the time calls.

Time knocked doors of friendship,

When a poor poet asked his performer friend,

If he could render music to his broken words, 

Sung by a passionate singer.

Time returned happily, 

On seeing a formal “Yes, Sir!” 

Reply message from this well-know musician.
